Take Precautions – Bears Activity Reported

There have been multiple reports of bins toppled and garbage distributed by bears last week. These events occurred in the lower Mineral King Road area and on the highway in the vicinity of Totem. South Fork Road and Trails to be Closed in Park

Road repair will begin on South Fork Road within National Park boundaries next week. This much-needed repair work will require a temporary road closure. Beginning Jan. 12, the road will be closed within the park boundaries to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for the duration of the project, which is expected to last until May 2026. ALERT – Emergency power outage expected to start between 2pm and 3pm today (30 December)

There has been a traffic accident at Road 204 and Ave 310 in Southern California Edison’s Venida Substation. A car-hit pole has resulted in damage requiring a pole replacement for the transmission and distribution lines serving Three Rivers. Currently, power remains on. However, between 2:00 and 3:00 pm today power will be shut down in Three Rivers so the SCE crew can safely replace the transmission pole and restore service. SCE estimates the outage to last approximately 3 hours while this work is being done.
