"No-Tie" Bow Tutorial!

Hi again...its Connie here! Today I have a quick tutorial for you on the "no-tie" double bow!

As you can see from this first picture, you will need some ribbon...here I have used Moss Satin with Grosgrain ribbon from the Really Reasonable Ribbon store. Cut four strips of ribbon - one at 7 1/2", two at 5 1/2" and one at 2 1/2". You will also need your choice of adhesive...I like to use score tape.

First, take the 7 1/2" and one 5 1/2" strips and create a loop.

Next, add adhesive to the center of each loop and press the two sides together.

Once you have completed that step, you will want to add more adhesive to the larger loop, and place the smaller loop on top.
Next, take the 2 1/2" strip and wrap it around the middle to create the "knot".

Finally, take your second 5 1/2" piece of ribbon fold it in half, and then adhere to the back of your double bow to create the "tails". Trim to your desired length! (This step is optional only if you want your ribbon to have tails.)

Here you can see the final product, along with a few others I created...one with brown satin grosgrain edged ribbon, and one with red silk ribbon...both also from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store. You can also embellish them however you want...here I added some pearls and a gem! I then added them to these wonderful Mistletoe tags which were cut out with the matching tag dies both from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Each year, four generations...my Grandmother, Mom, DD and I get together and bake our Christmas cookies for the season. Memories I will never forget! I plan on using these tags for the plates of cookies I will be giving as gifts this year to all my friends and family members!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a great day!

Silver Bells!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday! I have another Christmas card for you today, as I try and build up my cards to send out this year! Today, I am using the Multi Step Bells set to create this "Silver Bells" Card...yes...I did have that song in my head the entire time I was making this card. LOL!!

The bells were stamped as follows: Step 4 - Basic Grey, Step 3 - Going Grey, Step 2 - Basic Grey stamped off, Step 1 = Going Grey stamped off, and Step 5 - Basic Black. Once the bells were stamped, I cut them out and popped them up on some shimmery white card stock and then a Silver base which were both embossed the a damask cuttlebug folder.

To finish off the card I added the shimmery silver organza ribbon and white embossed ribbon from May Arts, some filigree brads from SU and half pearls from Zva Creative.

Really Reasonable RIbbon November Blog Hop!

Oooohhhh! I am just sooo excited about my first blog hop with the rest of the Really Reasonable Ribbon Design Team! If you have arrived from Kerri's fabulous blog, you are in the correct place. If not, you may want to head over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog to start at the beginning!!

If you have not seen this month's Ribbon Club assortment, you really must check it out...Silver and Blue oh my!!! :) I have used two of the ribbons from this Month's assortment on my card today...the Silver and Blue Shimmer Satin ribbons!

As you can see on my card, I stamped the snowflake image which is from the Peace & Joy set from Our Daily Bread Designs, cut it out with the Snowflake die, and popped it up on a punched out circle. To create the "bow" behind the image, I cut 2" strips of blue and silver ribbons, folded them in half to create the pointed loops, and adhered them to the back of the image. The base panel was created by stamping the Snowflake Swirls background stamp on some Vintage Silver Luster paper from the Paper Temptress.
To finish off the card, I added a bit more ribbon across the base of the card to create the "package" look, and added the sentiment.

Now, to continue on you will want to hop on over to Cheryl's AMAZING blog! Oh, before I send you on your way, I want to mention that you still have time to enter our bi-weekly challenge "Winter - Blue, White Silver" over on the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog! Peace on Earth Luminary!

Hello! I want to show you one of my favorite projects to make, especially for holiday gifts....a luminary for a battery operated tea light!! Before, I explain how I made the luminary, I must tell you about the gorgeous ribbon from the Really Reasonable Ribbon store I used at the top of my tag window! This 1 1/4" Ivory Silk ribbon is just to die for! It is so very soft, and makes the most beautiful bows! Here, I created my bow with a bow easy, and attached it to my luminary with some scor-tape and a red gem brad!

Now onto creating the luminary! I cut a piece of red card stock 4 1/4" x 11", and scored the piece of card stock in three 2 5/8" intervals, which leaves a small strip at one end. I then stamped the Poinsettia Background image from Our Daily Bread Designs all over the red base.

Next, I cut out the front window with the Tag Die. I then stamped the poinsettia tag image and sentiment from the Poinsettia Tag set on some vellum, and placed it inside of the window crated by the Tag Die. I then punched the top of the lumiary with a scalloped punch. To finish off the lumiary, I added the beautiful silk ribbon accent!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful day!
