Got Green Horseshoes?

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! I decided to create a card for St. Patrick's day today using the multi step Shamrock and Clovers, and the Lucky Horseshoe stamp sets!

The Shamrocks and Clovers were stamped with Step 1: Certainly Celery, Step 2: Old Olive, and Step 3: Always Artichoke. The Horseshoes were stamped as follows: Step 1: Going stamped off, Step 2: Going Grey and Step 3: Basic Grey.

I decided to use this week's Midnight Madness sketch #92 for my card today. The DP is from the DCDW Old World Stack, I layered my image on two Lacey Circle Nestabilities, and finished off the card with some green trim from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store!

Please head on over to see what my fellow crew members have created today!

Stone Fish Crosses

I sure hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I created this card today using the faux bleach technique, where I stamped the stone fish image with versamark in and heat embossed it with clear EP. I then used three different alcohol inks to create the background. Finally, I pressed the image with a warm iron, to remove the embossing powder to leave just the white portion of the image...giving it a bleached look!

To finish off the card, I added the cross in the background created with some SEI DP. I also created a ruffled ribbon with some Teal Grosgrain ribbon from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store! Finally, embossed the base copper panel with a Tim Holtz embossing folder and added four half backed pearls from Ava Creative colored with copics.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful day!

Monochomatic Anchor

Hi Everyone! I have a quick card for you today! I used this week's sketch over at Sketch Saturday! I was in a kind of monochromatic mood when I created this card! Not that I was blue or anything...just thought it would look good with this image and sentiment! LOL!!

The image and sentiment are both from the Anchor set from Our Daily Bread Designs! I stamped the image in Baja Breeze, and the sentiment in Not Quite Navy. To finish off the card, I added some Tim Holtz Hitch Fasteners on the side and tied them off with some blue baker's twine from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful day!

Masculine Birthday!

Hello! Well, my husband's birthday was last week (actually it was on Valentines day) and I needed to make him a card. When you think masculine you may not normally think of ribbon. However I do have a few "go to" ribbons for manly cards. One being twill! Two of my favorites for Masculine cards are cream and black. As you can see here, I decided to go with the black twill tape! I love using twill...it ties wonderfully into a a bow or just a simple knot, which is what I have done here, since I was going for that masculine look! Twill does come in many different colors, and the Really Reasonable Ribbon store has lots to choose from!!

Now on to the rest of my card. When I saw this image and sentiment from DRS designs I knew I had to get it for my husband! Here I have inked the sentiment and image with craft black and heat embossed it with clear EP on glossy card stock covered with Tim Holtz Alcohol inks. The DP is from Basic Grey's Indian Summer package, and the base was embossed with the distressed lines cuttlebug embossing folder.

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have a wonderful day!

KSS - 3 x 3 cards and box

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! My post is, well....sort of a week late, but I really wanted to share this box and 3 x 3 cards I made as a gift for a Ladies Valentine Tea I helped put together the day before Valentine's day!

I just love this little 3 x 3 box...it is such a fun size! You can put 3 x 3 cards in it, or tea bags, or even a few chocolates! You can find a tutorial over on SCS here! The hearts, which are from the Sweet Heart Roses set, were stamped as follows Step 1: Pink Pirouette, Step 2: Pretty in Pink, Step 3: Rose Red, Step 4: Real Red. I then cut the image out with label 1 nestabilities.

For my box, I used some pink pirouette paper for the base, and bashful blue and sugar rush basic grey DP for the cover. The flowers are from zva creative and the ribbon is May Arts wrinkled satin light blue ribbon and olive leaves trim from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store.

The mimicked my 3x3 cards to match the cover of the box...I just added slightly smaller bows, one mini flower, and embossed the base with the swiss dots cuttlebug folder!

Please head on over to see what my fellow crew members have created today!
