Celebrate - 50th Birthday

I know a few males turning 50 in the next year so need to get a few cards made.

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Kenny K - Birthday
http://kennykskraftykrew.blogspot.co.nz/2014/09/challenge-180-birthday.html
CRAFT Challenge - Use metal (brads)
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/challenge-278-25th-of-september-add.html

I have used a black and white paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft.  I added an arrow pointing to the 50 on the paper.  The image is from Kenny K and has been coloured with copic markers.  I also added some gold Stickles to the disco ball.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva.  I added some faux stitching around both the image and the sentiment using a Distress marker.  I added two brads to cover over the 40 and the 60 so that the eye is drawn more to the 50.

Coffee Time

This will be a good card for a "Let's catch up" occasion.  We all seem to get so busy at times, that it is good to try and catch up with our friends for a hot drink.

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch + Twist

Fresh Brewed Designs - Lots of Latte

Penny's Paper - Spots AND Stripes
http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2014/09/welcome-to-pennys-challenge-196.html

I have used a couple of papers from my scrapbooking stash.  I particularly like this pack as it has co-ordinating papers in it.  The image is from Fresh Brewed Designs and has been coloured with copic markers E00, E49, E47, E18, E15, R22, R20.  I coloured some white roses with R22, R20 and E15.  The pearls and matting cardstock are both from Rosie's Studio.

Here is the sketch I followed:

Music

This is the third card in the Progressive Challenge at Create with TLC.  I've made two today so I am making some headway into the backlog!  This one was an easier one for me as I love anything to do with music.

Seems A Little Sketchy - Sketch
http://seemsalittlesketchy.blogspot.co.nz/2014/09/74-kenny-k-downloads.html#comment-form

I have used a music paper with roses on it that comes from Kaisercraft.  The image is from the progressive challenge at Create with TLC and has been coloured with a combination of Distress Marker and copic markers.  I die-cut a music stave using a Memory Box die and added that to the top.  The triangle piece has been embossed with an M-Bossibilities folder from Spellbinders.  I added some Distress Marker to the folder before embossing.

Coffee O'Clock

I've aimed for a more vintage look for this card as I felt it suited the image:

Penny's Paper - Spots AND Stripes (both on paper)
http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2014/09/welcome-to-pennys-challenge-196.html

This is the second image in the progressive challenge at Create with TLC.  I am a couple of days behind everyone else as I was away with no access to a printer when the challenge started.  Hopefully, I can manage to catch up a bit as the challenge goes along.  Being on a way different time zone than everyone else doesn't help either!

I used a paper from a paper pack called "Antique Library" from Wild Rose Studio.  I merged the image from the progressive challenge with a sentiment also from Create with TLC.  I die-cut using a scalloped edged rectangle die from Spellbinders and then inked the edge with Distress Ink - Vintage Photo.  I used the same ink to colour the image.  I also added some pearls from Rosie's Studio which were a good match to the paper.

Blue and Purple Christmas

One of the issues that I have with Link-ups that don't have a countdown on them is that I have no idea when the challenge actually finishes.  I'm hoping that this one makes it in time as it says it closes on 30th September and we here are now after 10.00am on 30th September!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Digi Choosday - Purple and Blue Christmas
http://digichoosday.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/wk-37-christmas-in-blues-and.html

I have used a digital paper from Bearly Mine Designs.  The image is from Polka Doodles and is coloured with copic markers plus Stickles on the wings.  I die-cut a snowflake using a Memory Box die and some cardstock from DCWV.  I placed it so the image overlaps part of it.  I also added blue and lavender pearls from Sullivans.

Feathered Friend

For some reason, this image inspired me to go with a Steampunk theme!  Goodness knows why but I'm pleased with it:

CRAFT Challenge - Use Metal (Brads)
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/challenge-278-25th-of-september-add.html

I have used a paper from Bearly Mine Designs for the background.  The image is from Ike's World and has been coloured with copic markers W3, W0, B99, B93, YR23, C0, Y38.  I also added Glossy Accents to the eyes.  I matted with cardstock from Rosie's Studio.  I die-cut some cogs from the same cardstock and then added metallic rub-ons over the top.  I added a sentiment from Desert Diva and a couple of silver brads to finish.

Bookmark Girl

Bookmarks seem to have a habit of growing legs around my place so I think I need to make a few extra (and perhaps hide some of them!).  I have gone with a book reading image for this one:

Nutcrafters - Anything But Square
http://nutcrafters.blogspot.co.nz/2014/09/challenge-77-anything-but-square.html

I have used an image from Nutcrafters which I have coloured with copic markers E00, E08, E02.  I stippled the background of the bookmark with Adirondack Inks - Sunshine Yellow, Clover and Pesto.  I used the same three inks to stamp the bird using an acrylic stamp from Polka Doodles.  The lettering has been cut from textured cardstock from DCWV using a Memory Box letter die set.

Christmas Bookmark

Often the only time I get to read is holidays - the biggest one of these is Christmas.  So, I thought I would use a Christmas image for this bookmark to keep in season.  Although, both of my children love owls so I suspect I might lose the bookmark!

Something Old Something New

And nothing to do with weddings either!  It's time for a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs.  This week the theme is Something Old, Something New.  My "old" is my lace which was from my grandmother and my "new" is the washi tape which I bought when on holiday a couple of months ago.  The background paper is also new.

This week we are sponsored by Polka Doodles:

Here is my card to inspire you:

To look at the inspiration cards from the remainder of the DT, head on over to Incy Wincy Designs.

I have used a sewing themed paper from Kaisercraft for the background.  The lace as I said above is some I got from my grandmother many years ago.  The washi tape I bought when I was on holiday in July.  The image is from Polka Doodles and is called Alyce Sewing.  I have coloured the image with copic markers and added some Stickles to the bow in her hair.

Country Scene

This country scene could be used to reflect any season by a change of colours.  For this card, I have chosen autumn colours:
