All of Us

There is a new sketch on Splitcoast Stampers today yet I’m posting a card using  sketch 819 from a couple of weeks ago, that seems to be the way I work.

I found this image in my waiting to be used pile, all coloured up and ready to be turned into a card. It’s a Penny Black stamp, I have collected quite a few over the years mostly wooden stamps and none that I can part with but seem to be rarely used now days.

A few stars cut from Simon says Stamp and MFT dies and found some black and white Doodlebug bakers twine for the corner.

Roses

A couple of weeks ago there was a sketch from CAS(e) this Sketch and it showed a sentiment going down the side. I was pretty sure I had very old stamp that did just that.

I layered the card stock to look like the sketch and hoped I could stamp the sentiment straight at least with a clear stamp you can see where you stamping.

I couldn’t just leave it and these pretty roses dies from Penny Black recently arrived in my craft room and they worked out a treat.

Crochet Update

Here I am in my Eclectic Sweater from Cassie Ward, I did fiddle with the pattern. I worked in a Wool Shop before I had my son and I couldn't bring myself to using 5mm for DK so I used 4mm but in the largest size. Yes I did do a tension square so I could roughly work out the difference. I also lengthen it, I compared the size and length to a favourite brought jumper. As long as you finish on the right row for the neck it worked out fine.

Here is my latest project while I wait for Helen Shrimpton Octagonical, its Beltane Blessing again from Helen Shrimpton.

I've also been reading loads of Fiction, I found it gives my brain a rest from overthinking although I can't read thriller or crime books I'm almost having panic attacks when bad things happen. I've read so much Women's Fiction this year that I've past my Reading Challenge of 35books on Goodreads and didn't realise till now.

Snow

This card looked better in my head then in paper. Can you tell that the aqua and white paper is made by cutting stripes of card and sticking together.

The snowflakes and trees patterned paper are probably Echo Park but my snowman is an old Stamping Up one. To make sure I don’t have to cut round stick arms I stamped him on the Kraft card as well as some white to layer him.

The large letters are the MFT alphabet set but I did layer them with plain white underneath to give a bit of depth.

Freshly Holly

Yesterday I used daisy dies, today I’m using Holly dies. Same crackle background from Simon says Stamp stamped with a white pigment ink then embossed with Wow Opaque White powder. I inked round the edges with the same colour ink as the card.

The Holly and the sentiment are Penny Black both are quite old but Holly dies are easy to get hold off. I cut the die cut to fit my page and the berries are red pearls from eBay. The sentiment I layered a couple of times to get some definition.

Daisy Duo

My card today is based on the Freshly Made sketch from a couple of weeks ago and now I have in my hands the 6inch crackle stamp from Simon says Stamp I knew what I wanted to do.

In my head the daisies are sunflowers and they are Upsy Daisy dies from MFT the leaves are Memory Box dies. The Sentiment is an old Penny Black ones no idea if they are still available.

I stamped the background with white pigment ink pad and used WOW white embossing powder. I also inked round the edges with a matching ink pad to the background card stock.

Treading Snow

Last card in my drafts but I did manage to make a couple of cards yesterday that I was pleased how they turned out just need to photo them.

This little chap is another of Mo Manning’s images, fairly simple card letting the pattern paper do the talking. Fence die MFT and snowflakes Lawn Fawn. Stitched Circle die and sentiment are Simon says Stamp and sentiment shapes are old Stamping Up punches which look like I will be attempting to wear out this Christmas.
