Ah ha...I finally made something other than a card! I've been collecting boxes, from Tetley Tea for quite some time, with great intentions of making them into something useful to store some of my crafting supplies. Well, I finally did one, playing with some distress stains and getting really messy.
This is my DT submission for the FB challenge for Dr Digi's House of Stamps. This time around we are looking for Anything But A Card, and I've chosen to colour up Alistair theAlligator, which you can find here.
To complete the box, I first applied two coats of gesso, followed by an application of Wild Honey Distress stain. This didn't quite cover all the print, so I then rubbed some Walnut Distress stain in a circular motion...and this was the result. I was quite surprised.
I then stamped some grasses and some insects, all around, and used some washi tape for a bit of contrast. Mr Gator, has been edged in black and adhered with foam tabs. He seems quite pleased with the result....giving me a thumbs up. lol
Here's hoping you can join in with the challenge this month, and looking forward to peeking at your creations. Thanks for visiting.

Good morning everyone. Of course we are all hoping for sunshine this Mother's Day weekend, here in Canada, but of course Mother Nature doesn't make promises. This is another fun image from Dr Digi's House of Stamps...Rainy Raymond, somewhat appropriate for the spring season.
He's coloured with markers and cut out using the 'out of the box technique', a favourite of mine. The sentiment is from the Verve Stamps Blue Skies collection. The papers are from MME, and the only added extra is the strip of washi tape. I think this makes for a nice encouragement card...something without flowers....for a man.
Have a great weekend everyone, and remember, we now have a fortnightly challenge on our FB page. A chance to win, plus something to do if it does rain!

Live your life....
Hi there folks. What a gorgeous day today was...perfect for working outside. Of course, now I'm beat, but we are due for a bit of rain. That will give me some time to rest up for the next go round.
My card today, uses a stamp from Art Impressions...one that is available at Michael's. I've gone with water colours again, after stamping on water colour paper. Doesn't this put you in the mood for a vacation...after all, summer holidays are nearly upon us.
I've used a Spellbinder's die to cut out the image, and a Whimsy die for the clouds. The sentiment is one from Penny Black, definitely something to live by.
Hoping everyone is doing well and enjoying a bit of sunshine. Thanks for stopping by.

TTPH Anything Goes
Good morning! It's time for a new challenge at Through The Purple Haze, and this fortnight we have an Anything Goes theme! I've been loving the weather...still cool, but great for working outside and enjoying the fresh air. The grass is now green, and will soon need cutting, and soon I can get into the gardens. Can't wait for all the colours of summer....but until then, a card with plenty of flowers.
Here, I have used the adorable Morgan Fitzsimons image..Fae 9. Coloured with markers and pencils in lots of bright colours, reminiscent of spring and summer gardens.
Otherwise, a nice simple card using a DP from First Edition Summer Breeze collection and some brown card-stock. The sentiment, from the Verve Stamps Blue Skies collection creates just the right mood for the image.
Thanks for stopping by, and we're looking forward to seeing your creations!
