Sentimental You @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it was my turn to pick the challenge so decided to go with "Sentimental You" which simply means that you need to use a sentiment as the MAIN FOCUS of your card. So no itty-bitty Happy Birthday stuck in the corner or even a quote hiding almost behind a beautifully coloured image.

I do have an example for you. Something along the lines of this.....

....is what we're going for this week. As long as it's the sentiment that takes the centre stage then it's all good.

So, why not wax poetic or get all quotey-like and head over to Little Red Wagon and enter the "Sentimental You" challenge. And be sure to check out the fabulous projects the other Girlfriends have done.

ICAD - Post # 4

So, I've completed a few more index cards, 7 more actually, bringing my total to 26 which means I've caught up! (Hmmmmm...or not caught up. I should probably have 27 cards to be considered caught up, right? Anyhoo....) Now remember the ICAD motto though if you're playing along or thinking about starting, "You don't need to catch up, just start."

And here they are......

Prompt: Fringe

Prompt: Snowman

Prompt: Dragonfly

Prompt: Fabric

(I'm thinking about making this one into a cover for an ICAD mini book.)

Prompt: Quote

(Yep, thousand upon thousands of inspirational and/or uplifting and/or insightful and/or humorous quotes out there and I pick a two word sentence from a late-night talk show host.)

Prompt: Experiment

[My (feeble) attempt at getting more artsy. Inspired big time by Sara at Sarathings. Go and take a look at her index cards. They are absolutely amazing.]

Prompt: Your Name

Prompt: The Universe

(Subtitled: Hey, diddle diddle.....)

(Yeah, this picture is absolutely terrible but since it's the perfectly legible text that's the "meat" of the card not my horrendous drawing I'm not going to bother to take a new photo.)

So, there you have it. Why not grab a pack of index cards and give it a go? No pressure art......it's a blast!

ICAD - Post # 3

I finally managed to get some more index cards done. This go 'round I found that, while I started off a card with the prompt in mind, the cards very quickly morphed away from it.

Anyhoo, here they are......(Sorry 'bout the poorer quality photos. Another freeing part about this I find, I don't feel the need to do a lot of photo editing.)

Prompt: Use blue art materials

Prompt: Ink or Pen Testing (and my explanation as to why the top corner has no ink in it)

Prompt: Secret Message

Prompt: Alphabet Stamps (but then I decided I would just be lazy and use my computer)

Prompt: Mind Map the Colour Blue (yeah, this one went way off course)

Prompt: Chandelier (I know, not quite) Kudos to those of you who know what song that line is from.

Remember, check out Daisy Yellow if you want to learn more.

Get Krafty @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

the challenge is to "Get Krafty" which of course means to use kraft paper on your project.

Now those of you who have read my blog a time or two know I love me some kraft paper. And one of the things I love to do with kraft is to colour on it. And, I love colouring on kraft the most when there's no skin tones involved. So I made this......

I let the kraft paper do a fair but of talking on this digi (plus I'm thinking the picture is a bit overexposed). Doesn't that house look cozy and inviting though? It's a digi from Tiddly Inks. Got some embossed kraft paper and the card base in kraft too. I'm totally kraftalackin.

So, why not get your kraft on (you know you want to) and head over to Little Red Wagon and enter the "Get Krafty" challenge. And be sure to check out the fabulous projects the other Girlfriends have done.
