Wedding Bells - Fab Friday @ Tiddly Inks

It's Friday again, so time for a Fab Friday Tiddly Inks post - yay!  Usually I do at least a bit of a spiel before I show the card but I've got nothing to say here.....though I do have something to say, but it would make more sense to talk about it after you've seen the card.  Well, there I go.  Using the fact that I had nothing to say, as something to say, has now, in effect, made this whole paragraph pretty much meaningless......so onward, I guess.....

Here's my card....

I used Wedding Bells.  So perfect for all those upcoming weddings you need to make cards for!

So, dear Readers, have you noticed something different about my last few cards?  You have?  (I know most of you are probably shaking your heads or shrugging your shoulders right now but I like to pretend that there are people out there who actually read my blog, and furthermore, actually pay attention enough that they would observe a change so just go along with me here, 'kay?)  That's right....I've not been using textured cardstock to colour on for my last few.  I decided to switch it up a bit and go back to just regular ole white cardstock....though it's cheap-crap cardstock, $4.00 for 50 sheets of 8.5 x 11 when it's on sale.  I prefer it to the more expensive smooth best-for-Copics varieties (seeing as I use pencils I don't need Copic paper anyway) as I like a little tooth in my paper (obviously seeing as I like to colour on textured cardstock too).  I probably won't be giving up the textured completely, especially since I've got a few images pre-printed and cut out from before I decided to go back to the smooth, but I'm enjoying the little shake up of my crafty life.  (And this change is going way better than my attempts at watercolouring and non-digi stamping....as you'll notice you've not seen any of those horrors hitting my blog.  Nor will you until I can manage something postable!)

Make sure you go check out the other fabulous Fabby Friday makes the rest of the DT has come up with.  You can see 'em all right here.

Also for:

Colour Crazy:  anything goes
Jo's Scrap Shack:  anything goes
The Crafty Addicts:  anything goes
Dream Valley:  different coloured hair - I'm not sure if the challenge is "different" as in unusual or "different" as like I have on my card, two people with hair colour that's not the same.  If it's not the latter, feel free to delete my entry.

April Showers @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "April Showers" so think rain, rubber boots, umbrellas etc. etc. etc.

This is what I did.....

I used an image from Milk N Coffee and did some colouring on kraft. And hey look, no patterned paper!

I've got all my kids trained to make some sort of comment on my cards when I show them to them....at the very least they are expected to feign some sort of interest. This is what happened when I showed this card to my middlest....

Him: *walking closer* Oh. Miss You. That's cool. *pause* But I think it should say "Missed You".
Me: Hm, well....you kinda want to let the person know....
Him: *breaking in* No, Mom, "Mist You". Like mist. Coz of the rain on the card. "Mist You".
Me: *heart swelling up with pride*
Me: *struggling to speak around the lump in my throat*
Me: *eyes welling up with tears of joy while my mind screams, "Oh, you've done it! You've imparted all your wisdom to this beautiful child of yours. You can send him out in the world now, secure in the knowledge that all is good and right and there's really nothing left to teach him. Your work here is done."

I do believe at that point I got a hold of my emotions and praised his cleverness before he wandered off.

But hey, before you wander off, why don't you join us and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up? And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Also for:

Road Trip! @ Tiddly Inks

This month at

we're going on a trip, a road trip, that is! So, we want to see your projects about travel....using a Tiddly Inks image, of course.

This is what I did.....

I used Father's Day - Vintage Truck for this one. It's a steal, costing only $1.00!

I know I went all kraft again.....I do love colouring on kraft, and this type is a very grungy, textured kraft, which I thought went perfectly with the vintageyness of the truck.  I think I might give this to my oldest when he gets his G2 license.  Though on the inside I might put something like:

That is a quote only, for the purpose of aesthetics.  You most certainly not are allowed to go "everywhere" and, as always, all "wheres" that you're thinking about travelling to should be cleared with your Supervisor (that would be me) before departure.

Guaranteed to get an inward eye roll, for sure.

So, why not grab travel our way and join us for the challenge?  And be sure to  check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.
