Stencil Power! @ Little Red Wagon

   This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Stencil Power!" (and I picture her doing this was a raised fist and then your typical superhero fists-on-hips pose) which just means that she would like to see your use a stencil on your project.

This is what I did.....

Confession time.....I'm not setting the best DT example here.  My stencil is definitely a background player in this situation.  See the snowflakes (that are more like snowdots) on that patterned paper?  Yeah, so they were made using a stencil.  I know, I know.....thing is, I'm pretty terrible at inking and sponging.  So, that's all I got.

I was pretty liberal with the paper piecing here, just colouring the face, mitts, boots, and adding a bit of shading in the white.  I'm loving this lil guy's snowsuit.  Would totally have bought something like this for my boys back in the day.  

Digi is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  Let's just say, I scored a few digis from her sale (that's now over) so you'll be seeing Mo stamps for the next couple of weeks yet, I'm thinking.

Animal Antics! @ Little Red Wagon

  This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm saying, "Animal Antics!" which just means that I want to see an animal on your project....and it doesn't even have to be anticing.

This is what I did.....

I went with an animal who is anticing.  (:  Digi is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  Do you know she's having a sale right now?  15% off all images.....but I believe today is the last day, so you better hurry if you want to sale shop.  Gotta love Mo's stamps....she's one of the best out there.

When I saw this image I knew it would make the perfect Christmas card for my daughter's datemate as his family has a dachshund.  Though, when I showed it to my daughter, she had a critique.....and she showed me a photo of Buster....who is mostly black with a little brown, not all brown as I've coloured this dachshund.  I felt the need to point out that Buster probably doesn't have aNtLeRs, so I thought we were okay with some artistic licensing.  

As you have probably noticed....or will have noticed now that I mention it.....the paper had some flaws which made the doggo look a little spotty.  I was just happy it was a dog that got printed on this paper, and not a face.  A spotty-dotty dog doesn't look so bad, but it would be harder to justify a pocked-pimply face.  Oh, and there's some Clear Rock Candy Distress Stickles on those trees which I thought added the perfect amount of shine, and just a hint of sparkle for this scene.  A white wooden snowflake and a button....and that's all she wrote.

Just Because! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Just Because" which means that she wants to see those project that aren't for any special occasion or holiday.  Lots of things you could do with that!

This is what I did.....

I figure anyone can use a bear hug at any time, right?  This card took forever to come to fruition.  It went through so many different variants I'm surprised it wasn't offered a cameo on season 2 of Loki.  But, I did get it there in the end, and I do like how it turned out.  Stamp is from The Cat's Pajamas.  And if you're looking to score some wonderful stamps, dies or stencils at 70% off, go check out their shop.  They are moving to strictly digis so everything there is on super-sale until August 7th.
