Paper Cutz Friday!

Yippie Skippie! It's Friday which means another fun challenge from Paper Cutz Challenges. Create a  card, LO or craft project for a feminine birthday with a digital or hand stamped image of a fairy, pixie, butterfly or bird using pink, green, either lavender or blue, and white only. I finally got around to using this great Itty Bitty Betty Butterfly. It was about the time I purchased her I found out about all the freebies out there and have been cataloging them ever since. Here is my card:

Isn't she the cutest? I layered her atop of a digital sentiment and added some pearls and buttons for interest. The lovely patterned paper is an older print from Close To My Heart. Well I hope this intrigues you to play along this week! Have a wonderful ink filled day! Beth

Kraftin Kimmie Challenge...

Making a scene & using two images is the name of the game over at Kraftin Kimmies this week. As soon as I saw the challenge I had a preconceived notion of the end result and believe me that rarely happens so I knew this was for me!

Of course a big thank you goes out to Dustin Pike for offering up the ship backdrop and barrel some time ago as Freebies THANKS BE TO YOU!

Unscripted Sketches # 43 plus a bonus round...

It's Saturday and I'm here to share Unscripted Sketches new sketch with a twist! We thought it would be fun to intermittently add on a piggy back challenge so we did. Here is this weeks sketch created by our awesome dt member Liz :
Our piggyback is a color challenge of:

Initially looking at these colors I was totally overwhelmed, what I chose to do was modify the darker tan to brown and the grass green to more zesty color. You do what you need to do you can forgo the colors all together and choose your own that's why it's called Unscripted Sketches! Here is my card using Toby Cub from TGF:

Well now it's you turn to show us your handiwork and who knows perhaps next week you'll find your card showcased at Unscripted Sketches! Have a great Saturday!!! Beth

Paper Cutz in the making...

Well if you can believe it it's Friday again so get out your band aids because it's time for a Paper Cutz Challenge! This week we'd like you to create a "get well card". Sick people (beside my own family) make me uncomfortable, this has to be some sort of oxymoron being an EMT but it's harder to assess these patients unlike a trauma. When I'm uncomfortable I protect myself with humor so I created a humorous "Get Well Card":
So, now it's your turn to show us how send out your well wishes.

This card includes several other challenges:
Creative Card Crew   Get Well Soon
All Sorts  1 image 2 buttons 3 different solid card stocks (recipe may vary)
Lexi's Creations  Spotted or Striped
Simon Says   3 types of Embellishments ( ribbon, brads, buttons), 2 patterned papers or a coordinating card stock, one image.
Have a fantastic Friday, but if this one isn't the best don't worry next Friday will be here before we know it! Beth

I don't know about you but...

I have a real yearning for Spring now!  Yes I realize I live in the Midwest and technically we have many weeks to go, but I just don't know how much longer I can hold out!!! I am sure you can relate? Well though I cannot bring you fun in the sun just yet, Inky Impressions Challenges can help you dream of the days to come. Our new challenge is Think Spring - Use Bright or Pastel colors on your creation!!! Doesn't that just warm you right up? I for obvious reasons, chose my lovely Flower Lili for my card, to me she is what spring means to me most, f lowers! Here is my card:

I just love this card it came together quite nicely.  I have finally started to appreciate the paper flowers after dragging my feet for so long,

My card applies to the following challenges as well:
The Pink Elephant  Ribbon
Our Creative Corner  Something old that's new (the buttons and flowers)
Practical Scrappers  Flowers
A Spoon Full Of Sugar  Spring Time

The fun of fabric...

Happy Monday to you all and Happy Presidents Day!  Now if these two factors don't get you excited how about some Fabric!  I would like to show you one of the three fabric lines you can find in the  Torendi store, its the Knit "Pinocchio" Fabric. Now I haven't seen a rendition of this tale I haven't liked yet and this fabric gives us a nice abridged version minus several hundred words. Being a picture person this is right up my alley.
I happened upon a mini photo album hidden in the deepest darkest depths of my crafting cupboard, needless to say it was a sad sight to behold.  With this fabric and some TLC I was able to give this album a mini lift so to speak:

Here is a closeup of the magnetic clasp on the wrap around strap of the book:

I also wanted to have a go at the whole Mod Podge treatment to stiffen the fabric so I would not only be able use my die-cuts on them but I also hoped I would be able to use my embossing folders and as luck would have it it worked!  I found that Earth Love from the Joy Kit and My Boyfriend from Cosmo Cricket (both available and on SALE) plays well with the fabric. Here are two cards I created by cutting out scenes from the fabric and  adding some extras from stashes around the house.
I am starting to get into buttons and was thrilled to hear that very soon Torendi will be selling some fantastic buttons from Cosmo Cricket.

Close up of the embossing:

Another detail of embossing:

Well, I hope you found some inspiration in these creations . I just love having the opportunity to play with these supplies as I know you will too! Until next time. Beth

Wait a minute shouldn't it be Monday?

I cannot believe I haven't posted anything for 5 days, time really got away from me this week! I am lucky to have even gotten this weeks Paper Cutz challenge which is to create a card for a teen. My niece will be 16 this year and if I remember correctly I was pretty full of myself at that age so I thought I could create a card to reflect this. Of course I must admit I am still full of myself ! So here is my funny Birthday card for the week:

Here is the inside:
