Winter wonderland

Our theme for this challenge at Creative Knockouts  is Winter Wonderland using a image from all dressed up the image I chose was  Skater Girl

I decided to make a Diorama card I have a die for it and as it was winter I made it all white with exception for the girl and part of the tree
I cut out some bits for the card and sat for a bit kindy glitzing all the bits.
Got just as much glitter on myself as well
Some of the bits were either too small or too big but they can be used on something else
The middle of the trees came out so I used the green inner with the white outer to make it look like snow
I coloured the girl with copics and  kindy glitzed bits of her and the back panel
I adhered  one lot of leaves to the top of the two back panels and the the other  leaves on the bottom backs of the first two panels
I then adhered five snowflakes to the top of the first panel

Thank you for looking

Merry

For this challenge at Creative Knockouts  it's Time to be Merry, using a image from  Ram Stamps called  Christmas Merry I have to say I struggled a bit with this card eventually I ended up with this

I started with a red card base, cut three strips of gold card then put the Christmas baking paper on,
The backing paper was cut into  strips and I managed to get the borders top and bottom to match
I then printed the image three times, coloured the bottom one, then one of the other images then fussy cut the M,R and Y   also fussy cut the uncolored image I then put the Merry together. I put 3d tape on the letters so they would be raised. The Christmas was a die I cut a gold and red one adhered them together slightly apart

over the fence

This challenge at Creative knockouts is outdoor fun using a  Doctor Digi image I chose Noreens neighbourly natter I think she is gorgeous

I printed out the image and coloured it in with copics, I added a bit of extra card to the sides of the fence so I could fold it over to attach it to the base card I could of adhered it to the card with foam but this way the fence side hid the foam and to me it looked a bit neater, the image sat 1cm off the base card
I tried all sorts of papers behind Noreen but nothing looked right. I found the card, one that I had been playing with, in my stash then I came across a piece of card that I had embossed with the pattern and they both worked for me, so I embossed the card I put the fence and card together then adhered it to a light  mauve base card I have noticed that I have not coloured the flower in this photo have since done it
I don't always think that photos show the card that well so this is the side view of the fence

Supa Dude

Today at  creative knockouts our challenge is for lots of layers our sponsor is .polkadoodles and I chose this image superhero little dude cause who doesn't have a little super hero of their own

I have a photo of my, now 40 year old, son standing on the picnic table just like this.
I managed to put the image on a digital paper in a word document and I added the sentiment before printing it off. I downloaded the other sentiment I adhered the stars backing paper to light blue card then onto a dark blue base card I then cut a strip of blue card added  a strip of the star paper adhered it to the card then the sentiments and adhered it to the card I used a stripped backing paper with writing stamped on it  coloured my image with copics and adhered it to the stripped paper then adhered it on an angle as it sat better

Fancy fold

Our theme for this challenge at creative knockouts is for fancy folds using a image from  sheepski designs and I chose sheepskidesigns.blogspot.com/p/digis-flowers.html the three vases (no 27 of 38) images you have to scroll down tthe page to find the image

I separated the vases coloured them with copics put foam on the bottom of them

I cut out all the  elements for the card

I then put the card together I also had to cut some white card freehand for the bottom, couple of them not quite right

My finished card I stamped the front as I didn't think a sentiment would look right so there is a white piece of card at the back to write on

Folded the card in half for posting

Pleats

These are two different ways of pleating The zig zag one the embossed  card was distressed on the edges, I used a sanding block, So I thought I would lightly sand the whole folder. You have to be careful not to be too heavy handed as you can rip the card, I did but was able to disguise it with the zig zag. The zig zag is made up of five small strips of double sided paper, folded at the ends, three were folded one way then the other two folded other side the ends were butted up to make the pattern

The other card was just a matter of measuring and folding, they were folded to the middle and they had to be  precise or the piece wouldn't fold properly I was a bit out but it all worked out for me

I think I will be doing a bit of pleating on other cards

Has no sentiment on it will done one when I know who I am giving it too

Some more cards

Here are some more of my Card Class cards

Two different cards this time they need sentiments, and maybe a bit of bling, the little envelope was made by measuring and folding and a bit of string wrapped around it before it was adhered to the card. The white card's frame is just that adhered with foam then the flowers were added. the flowers that are over the frame also has foam dots to make it level
These cards I am not fussed on The black has a part piece embossed and we rubbed some sort of wax to make it stand out, the blue one was waxed straight onto the card then had a frame around as you can see with the double sided tape. I made a mess of this so didn't see the point of finishing it  Wont be giving these away
I liked doing these. Man card's  everything was layered and adhered with foam dots.
Has given me a bit of inspiration for men card's as I always get stuck
Has no sentiment on it will done one when I know who I am giving it too

Card Class

I have been going to Card Classes every two weeks met some new ladies even a couple I worked with over twenty years ago. I am enjoying the classes, although there has been a couple of classes I didn't  finish the cards as they weren't really my thing and some I have bought home to finish as I have wanted to add a bit more to them, it's just nice to sit and chat and make cards with like minded people.  I haven't posted any of the cards on my blog as yet so I am making a start today

these have a pocket on the front and in them are pictures and tags, the inside has  the same coloured card and backing paper as the front Has no sentiment on it will done one when I know who I am giving it too

These cards are a folded with a couple of cuts and folds
The inside, same backing paper on the diamond cut as in the front Has no sentiment on it will done one when I know who I am giving it too
I liked how this one turned out Don't know how his buddy turned out  must of given it away. Has no sentiment on it will done one when I know who I am giving it too

This is folded in three with two  different sentiments and one image his buddy I didn't like the images for it so have bought it home to put something else on it Has no sentiment on it will done one when I know who I am giving it too

Christmas in July

The challenge at Creative Knockouts is Christmas in July using a image from Polkadoodles and I am using this one santa bicycle our Christmas is in the summer,  so I went for this image it looks more like our Christmas would be

I found a card layout like this idea on Pinterest. What I like about this layout is you can do it any size My black base card is 9 inch by 5&3/4 or 130cm by147cm  The backing paper you can do any size as well  mine is 4 by 5& 1/4 I used double sided paper you then cut it top right to bottom left  then left top to bottom right then you turn two corresponding pieces over then I put the pieces onto a white card  that was slightly bigger than the backing paper. It doesn't have to be double sided paper you could use two or four different papers then you will have  spares to do some more cards
I then printed out my image  and cut it with the postage stamp die distressed the edges with old paper ink, coloured in the image with copics and gave Santa a green bike just to be different. I kindy glitzed all the white bits of his suit but will have to go over it when it has dries properly

Sakura

The challenge at  creative knockouts is to use die cuts punches, stencils with a image from Star Stampz I am working with this image sakura cherry blossom

As I was having a spring clean of my craft room(out with the old in with the new) I donated a lot of stuff I no longer need or use to the local primary school. I found this 3D Diorama Die I have only used it once and thought it would look good with the image

Unfortunately this is not a good photo it is rather flat

Now this started off being a card but a granddaughter thought it would look nice hanging on her wall so a board is to be made and this will be adhered to this card?
I coloured the image with copics cut an extra two so I could 3D her

This is the back piece the tags get cut off                 First panel tags also off

I cut four panels  tags on                                           Side pieces
The tags go into this panel

I adhered the coloured image to the first panel then 3D the girl, each panel of the four has a stem of blossom adhered to the back of the panel I cut them with the scan n cut so I could put a border around the stem, the front panel has a bit of blossom poking over the bottom the top is a row of birds on a branch I also kindy glitzed the flowers it is much easier if you decorate  each panel before putting the card together
The tags slip into the  the cuts in the panel ( I have coloured it blue so they could be seen ) once all in place it keeps the card together

For the kids

Hello out there. This  challenge at creative knockouts is for the kids using a image from patties creation and I picked  fairy bella

I am into doing shaped cards again so I decided to make this an easel card using one of my nesting dies I have no idea what it is called and as it was to be for the kids I had to make it pink
My base card is white and the pink card was cut with a smaller die, my fairy has pink hair and clothes I used kindy glitz on her wings and the stars I did the sentiment on the computer the bling was from my stash
I then decided it didn't look right so I got the pink bow it didn't look right either the other bows were too big so I got a charm, that has a butterfly on it, threaded it onto a piece of chain then adhered it to the bow then onto the card

Embossing sheepski image

This challenge at Creative Knockouts is for Embossing using a image from Sheepski design  I chose this design, butterfly , as I had to make a man card and I wanted to try the technique of inking an embossed card ...... Man cards are always a challenge for me to make

I used craft card for my base card, Embossed black card with this EB folder (can't think of the name of it) then I swiped over it with gold sparkle pigment ink I did it twice, I also went a bit thicker around the edges a bit of ink changes the whole look

I put the image in a word document and changed the colour, then put a border around it, I cut three, two I did not colour  The top image I coloured with colouring pencils and outlined it with fine liners. I cut two strips of plain black card and heat embossed the sentiment
I adhered the embossed card to the base, adhered the strips of card then adhered the images, the top one I used 3D foam
I will definitely use this technique again

Concertina Pocket Card

Another shaped card this one is a Concertina Pocket Card once again there are tutorials and measurements for this on You Tube

I am in a small card group here in New Zealand and we have a monthly car swap, so nice to get a card in the mail, and the theme for that month was an interactive card

I had recently been to a card class using Mintay Papers it was the meet me in Paris set, such lovely papers to work with and I had papers and scraps left over enough to make this card

The lady I was to send the card to has traveled and Paris was one of her destinations

One of the first things to do with the card was to score two lines on the fold of the card so that it looks like a book this is so with the thickness of the inside of the card it folded neatly and the ribbon used to tie the card together fitted nicely

I used  hot pink card as my base, adhered the pink backing paper, that looks like it has a white  embroidered flower on it, onto white card then a piece of white ribbon to tie the card up, then a tag with the tower on it adhered the camera, glasses and card with 3D tape then it was onto the inside

Once again there was a lot of measuring , cutting and pasting that was the reason for the two scoring lines I used the same pink backing paper as on the front of the card, added other bit of ribbon to the back, the pockets and front pieces were backing paper with peonies on it, such pretty paper.
now the interactive part of my card was all the bits and pieces I was putting into pockets

I covered the score lines with a strip of gem lace (only way I can think to describe it) The pockets were filled with tags, doily's made with card BP paper and images scraps of paper on the pink card, a perfume bottle a cat a envelope with a dog to name a few there was space to put things on the back of the concertina part, in the bottom of the pocket, gems and brads you can just put anything you want to on a card like this

This card also took some time to put together but I think it was worth it and the lady receiving it like it

Envelope box card

I have recently got back into making Shaped cards, flowers, using different textured papers and other beady embellishments. I also get ideas and inspiration from Pinterest and when I saw the envelope box card I knew I had to make one, You Tube has also got some great tutorials

I am enjoying doing them again, this one I made for a very dear friend of mine.

There was a bit of measuring cutting and pasting to do so I got that all together and adhered the Backing paper I used dusty pink card stock for the base and the Backing Paper was from my stash

this was it put together I misjudged the side bit but that will be covered with flowers

The back is only half covered, as the white card was just that to write on and to hinge

I made an assortment of flowers one of the white flowers is made of toilet paper the other with a handi (paper )towel, three flowers were made with flower crepe paper, it is a bit firmer than normal crepe paper, the other flowers were made of card stock I cut an assortment of leaves with the cuttle bug and a bunch of hearts there was also some artificial flowers and a string of silver thick thread

I then had a play around to see how my flowers would be placed then took a photo to give myself a guide line

I put it together by using the oasis ( the grey block) I cut it to fit the box My flowers all had a wire stem, I tried using florist tape around the wire but they didn't go in the oasis very well so I just put them in without the tape Once I was happy with the flowers I added some leaves It needed a bit more so I put some small carnation flowers underneath the larger flowers and a string of hearts to the back of the box

The front finished finally

there was also a hinge at the back to help the box stand upright the hinge was made with card

I really enjoyed making this card, although it did take a while putting all the bits together and building the card, but to me it was well worth the effort it took.

My friend just loved it she has it on show for everyone to see
