MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

Hello!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another fun sketch challenge from MFT!  Here's a look at the sketch:

I made a card using Spider Web Die-namics and Stamps.

Happy Halloween!  I made one last card for Halloween and used some Sweet Tooth Felt for the creepy crawly web.  So fun!  I love the fuzzy texture.  The banner is made from the smallest Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX Die-namics and I decorated the top of each flag with the Mini Scallop Edge Die-namics in Black Licorice Card Stock.  The spider is cut from Black Licorice Felt and I added a couple of black pearls for his eyes.

Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for a complete list of all the designers playing along in this week's Stamp Club.

Sweet Sunday Sketch 169 Winner

Hello!  I'm sneaking away to type this up while the EIGHT 4th grade girls, who have taken over our house for the night, are watching a movie.  Then we'll see how long they stay up and giggle and gossip in their sleeping bags.   I don't know about them, but I'm utterly exhausted!  Haha!

It's time to announce who the next Sweet Sunday Guest Stamper is for SSSC170.  But before I do, here is a peek at 5 of my favorites:

Kim's brilliant holiday cheer card really pops with the bright greens, reds, and yellows.  I love the sparkle paper!

I adore the rose accents Danielle added to her card and look at that shading!

Eat HAM - so cute!  Shannon created this adorable card for Thanksgiving and the touch of burlap is fab!

Stephanie created this MONSTER-licious card complete with a heart tatoo on Frankenstein there - haha!  Love it!

Pam's fabulous fall card is SO adorable.  I love the little leaves under the button and under the trailer.

And the winner is....

Pam!

Congrats, Pam!  I'll be contacting you shortly with the next sketch and your guest stamper badge.
Thanks again to everyone who played along this week.  Don't forget, there is still time to enter your card for SSSC170, which ends Friday night.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Taylored Expressions Studio Challenge - October

It's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge.  This is a monthly opportunity for us to share what makes our stamping studios hum.  Each month we will have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.

The theme for October is:
Good things come in small packages!  The holiday season is upon us and between Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukah, and Christmas there are a ton of opportunities to create and give little treats, gifts, and party favors.  Please show us something you'll be giving this year.

I've been making Halloween treats for my kids' classrooms and these are a snap to make.  I've used a piece of black card stock to make a band around a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.

I used Totally Tags Halloween and Totally Tags Dies for my treats.  To make the band, score a 6-1/2" x 2-1/4" piece of card stock at 1-1/2", 2-1/8", 5" and 4-3/8".  Add a little adhesive to one end and then fold it into a band/box shape.  The seam will be on the bottom of the box.  Then you just decorate the top and slide the treat inside and you can glue it down with a Glue Dot.

Please be mindful of allergies in classrooms.  We don't have allergies in one class (hence the peanut butter cups), but this idea will work great with prepackaged Rice Krispies Treats, Peppermint Patties, apple slices, baby carrots, etc.

You can find these fab products in the TE Store -

Please be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the Baker's Dozen have created for you today -

Rock ON!

Hello, hello! I have finally photographed my Sweet Sunday card - whew! I apologize for not getting this up for you all before this moment - that's pretty lame when the challenge hostess doesn't have her act together, eh? LOL!  You can see the challenge post HERE.

Yesterday was my rock star husband's birthday.  I won't tell you how OLD he is, but you may be able to figure it out, hehe!  Poor guy had to travel for business on his big day, but thankfully, this is a short trip.  When he's gone, I am lost - seriously.  He is the cook, the grocery shopper, he reads the kids their bedtime stories and pretty much is the most hands-on dad ever.  So when it's time to make dinner, I grab the bachelor dinners - you know, chicken nuggets, Spaghetti-O's, fish sticks.  Yeah.  The kids just roll their eyes and laugh.  Last night it was pizza, so they liked that.  Score one for mom!

Anyway, to show him that he pretty much rocks, I made him a birthday card with Masculine Graphic Tee Die & Stamp Set.  The card base is Black Licorice Card Stock and I layered it with some A Boy's Life 6x6 papers from Echo Park.  I stamped the bolt in Memento Cantaloupe ink and then stamped Rock On over the top of it in Brilliance Graphite Black.  The age pennant award banner is made with the new Accent It Flags & Tags Die-namics and then I added the By the Numbers Die-namics.

Be sure to check out the sketch and all the Sweet Sunday Stampers' samples for SSSC170.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 170

It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Here is the deal: make a card with this layout and use the InLinkz button down at the very end of this post to enter your card. The links will close in two weeks, next Friday at 10 PM (Mountain Time). Be sure to link directly to the blog post or gallery image which features your card. You may post a picture of the sketch on your blog, but please save the image to your computer first. Use the keyword SSSC170 if you plan to post your card in an online gallery.

WANT TO BE A GUEST Sweet Sunday Stamper?  I'll be picking my favorite card or project after each challenge and that winner will have a special guest spot as a designer on a future Sweet Sunday Challenge.  I'm SO excited about this!  You can enter as many different cards as you'd like before the following Friday deadline, so get stampy!

I will be announcing the next Guest Sweet Sunday Stamper later this week, so be sure to check back to see if you will be joining the design team for SSSC171!

Ok, so I'm a horrible hostess.  I'll be honest with you - I did NOT manage my time well today and now I'm typing this post while falling asleep.  So I find myself sitting here with a half-completed card and I will have to finish it in the morning and I will just post it separately.  I hope you all will forgive this air-headed hostess and will hop on over to see the Sweet Sunday Stampers, because they rock!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
