Halloween Treats!

 

Happy Halloween!  I was busy making Halloween treats for my students last night.  It was a last minute idea (of course...why would I plan anything ahead of time?).  On my way home from work, I was thinking how I could get crafty and came up with covering Hershey candy bars.  Simple enough especially when I had some great DCWV Halloween paper and my Silhouette to make labels!

 

I cut the wrappers to 5.5" x 5.5" and wrapped it around the candy bar, securing it with some Scor-tape.  Then I started stamping labels.  These labels are from My Time Made Easy.  They are the Occasional Label cut file and coordinating stamp set.  I also used MTME's A Spooky Surprise stamp set for the sentiment, and Reverse Confetti's Spooky Cuties for the images.

The ghost on this one is from the MTME set and the witch's shoes are from the Reverse Confetti set.

These only took about 1.5 hours to complete 24 of them.  It was hard to not eat one!  I guess the sentiment held me back!  LOL!!

Happy Halloween (almost)!  I went down to my craft room for something and decided to make two Halloween cards for my nephews.  This one is a little washed out in the picture.  There is some green in the pattern paper and I added some green to the main image.  That piece was die cut with My Favorite Things Vertical Greetings die.  The stamps are from Reverse Confetti:  Spooky Cuties and Spooky Sentiments.  I ran the black piece through a spider web embossing folder, and adhered a spider button on the web.  Kind of hard to see here in the picture, but you can see it if you look closely.  On this one, I added black enamel glaze to the eyes for some dimension and a Wink of Stella brush for some shimmer on the ghost.

This one was made in the same manner.  I used a copic marker to color in the "31" and added a spider sticker to the stamped web.  There's a spider button on the embossed web as well.

Just Us Girls #212 - Photo Inspiration Challenge

Happy Saturday!  Today the challenge at Just Us Girls is a photo inspiration challenge, and Marisa has chosen a photo of the most beautiful fall table scape.  I just love fall colors!

Here's a closeup of the beautiful photo.

I was pretty literal with this photo.  I used the colors and leaves as my inspiration.  While I was searching my bevy of fall stamps, I found this leaf image in an old set from Gina K designs called Autumn Leaves.  I stamped it on watercolor paper and used Distress Markers and a water brush to color it.  I was really hoping for more orange leaves, but the brown seemed to overpower the oranges and yellows I used.  I added some shimmer with a Wink of Stella pen.

I needed a sympathy card for a neighbor's father, and I just adore this sentiment.  It's from a PTI set called With Sympathy.

I'm also entering this in the Trigger Tuesday challenge.  Obviously inspired by the leaves!

Just Us Girls #211 - Color Challenge

Hi everyone!  Just Us Girls has a cool color challenge going on this week.  Nancy chose this very beautiful color combination that I just adore!

 I just got this Joy Photo Card Frame die from My Favorite Things and cut it out twice (using the die-cut inlay technique from last week).  Once from marina mist and again from sahara sand and put them together.  The marina mist piece was run through PTI's woodgrain impression plate and accented with tea dye distress ink.  Then I cut some snowflakes from SU's retired Parisian Breeze paper using MFT's Let It Snowflake dies.  I made them sparkle with distress clear rock candy stickles.  It gave a subtle sparkle.  I added a button and twine bow and mounted everything on soft suede base.  (And now that I'm looking at this color combo on my laptop, I see that there are more grays than browns.  It looked more brown on my iPad than on my laptop.  Oh well!)

I had a couple of snowflakes left over, so I put them together and stamped a sentiment from MFT's free set Cheerful Christmas Greetings in soft suede for the inside of the card.
