Bunny Kisses

Hi friends!  Well it looks like Easter celebrations here in the US will be cancelled.  It's a sad thing, but what is sadder are the people becoming ill, people dying, and health care professionals being pushed to the limit.  But it doesn't mean that we can't send cards to those we would have been spending the day with, right?

I made two similar cards that started with this uber cute bunny background stamp.  There is another small stamp set that comes with the background stamp to give the bunny ears color/pattern.  There is even a stamp for the bunny cheeks.  It's so easy and fast, and it is a great one to use for mass production of cards.  Then I found this die I got last year.  I die cut it twice to stack it.  I usually stack three times, however it's such an intricate die I decided to take a short cut!  I added crystals to the background and shimmer to the sentiment.

This is the exact same card except for the background panel. I think I'll make more of this design to send out to family and friends.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #529 - Photo Week

Hi friends!  It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and I'm the hostess for this challenge.  I chose this landscape covered with pretty tulips.  I think tulips are the ultimate sign of Spring.
I was so happy to get my hands on this layering stencil set from Simon Says Stamp.  There is a layering stamp set to go along with it as well, but I only used the stencils.  I used distress oxide inks with the stencils and actually started with a larger piece of cardstock and used the stencils twice side-by-side to get a fuller bunch of flowers.  Once I was done stenciling, I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle and added the die cut sentiment (die cut and stacked three times for dimension).  I added shimmer to the sentiment and flowers then added the clear sequins.  I have many birthday cards on hand and decided to get some sympathy cards done. I made this yesterday, and today I found out my former co-worker’s father passed away from Covid-19. I didn’t think I’d need this card this soon. Stay safe everyone!

You can see more from our JUGs design team and our guest for this month, Vicky, on the JUGs blog.  This is Vicky's last week with us, and I'd like to thank her for her beautiful cards this month.

Thanks for stopping by!

Time Out #158 - A Special Challenge

Hi everyone!  We have a special challenge going on over on the Time Out blog.  Please read below for more information.

Why a Special Challenge?

Today is Epilepsy Awareness day and we want to help raise awareness of this condition.

Purple is the colour for Epilepsy and a purple ribbon represents Epilepsy.

Epilepsy is a complicated condition that is often misunderstood. Many see seizures in the media as convulsive seizures but there are many types of seizures-many are silent and you wouldn't even know they were happening!

Rather than us explain Epilepsy in detail to you-take a look at this link to find out more.

Also Sandie, our team leader, has epilepsy and she tells you her experience of living with this condition-so visit her blog if you want to know more.

Plus there is a hop going on to raise awareness of Epilepsy with some super Guest Designer and some prizes along the way. Friketa is organising this-pop on over and hop along!

We chose 'friendship' as our 'optional twist' as we thought it would be nice to send a purple card to a friend to make them smile!

I'm loving gnomes lately, so I chose this cute girl gnome and colored her in shades of purple.  I added some purple gingham paper and die cut a scallop edge on one side.  The sentiment is keeping with the "twist" of friendship.  I added purple crystals and star dust stickles to flowers and heart for some sparkle.   I hope you will join us in this special challenge!

Just Us Girls #528 - Color Week

Hello!  This week over at Just Us Girls we have a color palette that Vicky chose that I love!

I chose this bold floral set from The Stamp Market to work with today.  I stamped the flowers and leaves in the challenge colors around the perimeter of the panel.  I recently saw a video by Kristina Werner where after she stamped the images (or rather I think she used a stencil for the images), she blended some of the same inks over it to soften the look.  I decided to try that and liked the effect I got.  I stamped this sentiment, and wasn't really happy with it at first, so I created another card.

I created the card in the same manner, however I think I got a little heavy handed with blending the inks around the stamped images.  I do like the sentiment better on this one.  I finished both cards with yellow crystals and star dust stickles in the flower centers.

I hope I don't need to send the get well card to anyone anytime soon.  I hope everyone is well and heeding the precautions from the doctors and scientists.

Just Us Girls #527 - Trend Week

Hey friends!  Just Us Girls has a fabulous challenge this week.  It's Trend Week and Bobby chose to use a BLACK BACKGROUND.

I was excited for this challenge because I knew this Blossoms Fill-In stamp set from Concord & 9th would be the perfect stamp for it!  Can I just say that I am tickled pink (or black?) with this card?  Is that too vain?  Well I am!  It really came out just as I had imagined!  I stamped it with Versafine onyx black ink.  I had to stamp it twice to get a really dark black impression.  Then I used various orange and green inks to stamp in the flowers.  Super easy and fun card to create!  I die cut it with a stitched rectangle and added the sentiment, silver crystals, and star dust stickles to the flower centers.  Now I have to save it for someone really special to send it to!  ;-)
