Just Us Girls #581 - Photo Week

Hello everyone!  It's Photo Week over at Just Us Girls, and Bobby chose this very pretty spring/summer photo.  Look at those boots, flowers, and sun hat!

I immediately honed in on the boots.  I knew I had a stamp with boots, and I found an old Papertrey Ink set, but then found this die from Simon Says Stamp.  It's just one die that embosses some lines to give some dimension.  I was a little worried about coloring it because I'm not that good with coloring images with no stamping.  But I trudged on!  Once I was done coloring the image, I used an arch die to cut out the pattern paper.  This paper is so pretty with gold foiled lines in it.  I then stamped the sentiments and die cut them out and stacked them (and the boots) with three layers for dimension.  I die cut white and yellow stitched rectangles and added it to the base.  Gold crystals and shimmer was added for that extra sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by!

Time Out #186 - Theme Challenge

Hello!  The Theme Challenge over at Time Out this time is PETS

I love my dog Martha.  She's a black and white English Springer Spaniel and she's adorable (IMHO!).  So, I had to use this cute dog in black for this challenge.  I stamped it using black ink and die cut it several times to stack it for dimension.  I used the same black ink and embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder.  I knew I had some old Basic Grey paper with a pet theme and had to dig it out.  I chose this pattern and cut a piece and a black piece of cardstock to mat it.  I added three black hearts to fill out the white space.  I'm sending this to our neighbor's son who comes in the evening to take Martha for a walk.  He rings the back doorbell and Martha runs to the door jumping up and down because she's so excited to go for that walk with him!

Here she is when she was just a puppy of about six months old.  She is 2 1/2 years old now and so furry!  She was sitting by me in my craft room when I took this picture.

Just Us Girls #580 - Color Week

Hi friends!  I'm the hostess over at Just Us Girls for the Color Week challenge.  I chose yellow, coral, and raspberry.  I correlated these colors to Distress inks squeezed lemonade, abandoned coral, and picked raspberry.

I purchased the April Hero Arts kit because I really liked the three stencils included in it.  I used all three stencils, using a different challenge color for each one.  I started with a larger piece of paper and realized I could make two mini slimline cards by cutting it in half, so I did!  I just changed out the sentiments and used different flowers on them.  The sentiments were die cut from black cardstock and I die cut the outline from vellum.

I added a yellow piece of cardstock behind the main piece to add more color.  Both cards are spritzed with shimmer spritz and added crystals as well.

I wanted to try another idea I had.  This time the coral and raspberry inks were stenciled using the same stencil.  I just turned it to create the circle designs.  Then I used the line stencil and neon glitz paste in yellow.  The flower is from the same die set and I used a different sentiment and used white cardstock for the outline instead of vellum like I did on the previous two cards.

Just Us Girls #579 - Trend Week

Hello!  The new challenge over at Just Us Girls is a good one!  It's our Trend Week and Carol chose to use more that one stencil.

If you've seen any of my cards lately, you know I love stencils!  I have several and use them often.  The wreath on this card was created a while ago when I first got this Pink Fresh stencil set.  I couldn't wait to use it, so I created the wreath using the several layers of stencils and put it away.  There is a die for this wreath and it not only cuts the outside of the wreath, but also the inside.  I then went to work on the bow.  I've had the die for a bit, but just got the stamp set that goes with it yesterday.  I stamped it in two ink colors and added the sentiment.  I also stamped the hello sentiment then stenciled the background with the green ink.  I added the wreath and bow (I think it should have moved it down a bit!) to the main panel, spritzed it with shimmer spray and added the pearls.
