Just Us Girls #586 - Wild Card Week

Hey friends!  It's Wild Card Week over at Just Us Girls.  This week, Angie wants us to use spots and/or dots on our cards. Cool challenge!

I have birthday party to go to today for a one-year old.  I thought these fun primary colors and this cute mouse would be perfect for Ethan.  I colored the images with copic markers and die cut them.  I chose a red polka dot pattern paper for the main panel and die cut it with a square window slimline die.  I added a yellow diagonal pattern paper behind it.  The sentiment was die cut from polka dot paper also in green.  I embossed the happy sentiment on a blue flag.  I sprayed it with shimmer for that extra something.

Just Us Girls #585 - Photo Week

Hi friends!  It's Photo Week over at Just Us Girls and Cecile chose this photo of a beautiful daisy bouquet.

I chose this Daisy Bouquet image from SSS.  I stamped it with a brown ink and colored it with copic markers.  The daisies were colored with a blue-violet copic marker to give it some shading while keeping the look of white.  The centers were somewhat solid, so they look a little brown.  I was still able to color them in yellow and then added yellow stardust stickles.  I pulled out an old Stampin' Up wood mount background stamp called Cheesecloth and stamped it with a kraft colored ink off center.  I die cut that panel with a stitched rectangle mounted it on kraft cardstock.  The daisy image was die cut once it was colored and two more times to layer for dimension.  I added a twine bow, the sentiment, and crystals.

Time Out #188 - Inspiration Challenge

Hi there!  The new Time Out challenge this time is our Inspiration challenge.  We are challenged to be inspired from items inside our homes.  There's a twist of embossing too!

You know what I have a LOT of inside my home?  NEW STAMPS that have never been used!  LOL!  So I decided that was what I was inspired by.  Reverse Confetti and Hero Arts teamed up to create this graphic floral stamp set.  I loved the samples I saw with this set so I bought it.  I started by stamping and die cutting all the pieces and adhered them together.  Then I went to work on the background.  You can't see it in the photo, but I ran the white piece before stamping it through my die cut machine with a diagonal impression plate.  I then stamped it with the yellow ink.  Before I stamped it onto the cardstock, I stamped it off on a scrap piece.  I wanted a subtle background in that color.  For the yellow mat and sentiment piece, I used the same yellow ink and did the ink to paper technique.  I didn't have a yellow in this color cardstock, so I created my own with the ink.  The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and embossed in white.  I added yellow crystals and shimmer.

Just Us Girls #584 - Color Week

Hi friends!  Maria chose these pretty colors for the Just Us Girls Color Challenge this week.

I had to use this Joyful Peonies stamp, stencil, and die set from Pink Fresh Studio.  I stamped it first, then used the five stencils to add the color (the leaves really are blue...they may look a little green).  I used the coordinating die and cut it out as well as two more times to stack it for dimension.  I die cut the sentiment, then stamped it with Versamark and embossed it with silver embossing powder.  It was also die cut two more times for dimension.  I wanted to bring in more silver, so I used a thin frame die and die cut the silver frame.  I added silver crystals and some shimmer spritz.

This was the first one I created.  I didn't care for the placement of the sentiment, so I created the one above and moved it to the other side.  I'm not sure who would notice this, but it bothered me!  LOL!
