Collages Recap

I’ve been feeling a bit of a creative mind slump lately so I’ve been playing with the gelli plate more for making collage papers but that at least has provided lots of collaging materials. Here are a few I’ve created. Some are on wood substrates and some are on canvases that I need to use up. 

This one may get some shading or additional touches so still in process. 

These four are finished, two of which are hanging at the Cumming Art Center for the summer show. 

This one uses a variety of papers and ink

I keep buying jelly rolls and fat quarters so I think I’m addicted lol.

Ready For Cooler Weather

So the ac is out today so dreaming of cooler weather. Also miss my Jeep and wandering down the logging roads in North Georgia. Here are some pics from 2006 

Geek Out A Little

So a few years ago a couple of my paintings were bought for a tv show set, Raising Dion. It is a sci-fi show which is right up my alley. I watched the first season and never saw them and was a little disappointed and thought maybe they didn’t make the cut. Found out yesterday that there was a second season and had to watch it anyway. Was so excited to see my art even though never a clear shot. Below is my picture of the television ( and no it isn’t the only one lol) and below that are pics before they were framed.

In 2006 I was on a roll with making gift albums. It was fun not trying to work around a photo and just playing with creating a back drop. Love me some yummy papers lol. 

This one was a baby shower gift. Can you tell I was into buttons and ric rac?

Celebration in Review

My art journey started with scrapbooking and my favorites were making gift albums where I would just play with layering papers. When my brother Scott and sister-in-law Wendy got married they commissioned some guest memory albums and this is the one that went to mom. It was a really cool small destination wedding where we had fun all being together and celebrating for a week. 

Photo Review and Getting in the Groove

So I’ve found it a challenge to pay attention to my blog but last night I was looking through old photos and thought why not just post about my favorites and see where it goes. 

My oldest photo on Google photos is a pic of the dining and living rooms set up and ready for the family to come eat Christmas dinner. And why not relive it in June lol. 

So below is from 2005 where the living room was mom’s English country style and the dining room was my traditional plum and red phase. 

And the second and third pics are my more contemporary phase now with set up for the family and then with all their beautiful faces sitting at the table. 

Art play time

Haven’t posted in a bit but have pulled out my cold wax paints the last few weekends. A number of pieces in the works that I’m not happy with yet but I am with these four. They are smaller at 6 x 6 each for the painted section but I’m loving the colors.
