I had fun with gesso + distress inks tonight! I'm sharing a page that is a scraplift and it's one of the challenges this month at A Cherry on Top. Here's my page:
I have a process video HERE, but after I finished my mixed media background, I used a bunch of Elle's Studio die cuts and a stamp set to finish my page.
I do really like how this background turned out. I'm always kind of intimidated by mixed media, but what Missy says is true. You can't mess it up if you start with gesso.
For a touch of bling, I added some Boyish Charm sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps. Thanks for looking!

This page was for one of the June challenges at A Cherry on Top. The challenge was to use 'picture perfect' as the title on your page. I used the new Echo Park collections, Summertime and Dive into Summer.
I always like EP's summer collections. In fact, I used some of the older collections on this page too. Some of the patterned papers and embellishments are from Summer Party, Summer Dreams, and Summer fun.
I swiped some white acrylic paint on my background and added some mixed media with distress inks before I added on my layers.
I added a couple of epoxy flair from Scrappin Happy Studio as a final touch. Thanks for looking!

meow.
Meet Blackie!
He's not technically my cat and his name is actually Midnight. He's the neighbor's cat, but some time this past winter he started hanging out at our house more and more. He lives in our garage most of the time, comes inside the house occasionally, and I feed him and give him his flea/tick medicine.
This is the new Bella Blvd collection, Chloe. Thanks for looking!

coming soon.
My brother and sister in law are having a baby this year! This is their announcement photo they shared on Facebook. I used the brick cut file from Paper Issues as a stencil with some transparent matte texture paste.
Here are some better photos of the texture paste:
I really love the subtle effect the texture paste had. I love the idea of using a cut file as a stencil. I will try this again!
Thanks for looking!

favorite.
I hope you can see the inspiration I drew from this sketch at Let's Get Sketchy. I started with a sheet from the Vicki Boutin ready to use water color paper pad and then I kind of just kept adding things and forgot about the sketch.

the goodest boy.
Hi friends! Today I'm playing along with the recipe challenge at Scrap Our Stash. This was a tough one! The June recipe was: five patterned papers, 4 embellishments, a three word title, two different alphas, and one photo. Here's my page:
I used the new Cooper collection from Bella Blvd. I'm loving it right now. I accented with epoxy flair form Scrappin Happy Studio.
I tell Bentley all the time that he's the goodest boy so that's why I chose my title. Thanks for looking!

I want to see the world one beach at a time [Challenge YOUrself 78].
Hi friends! I love our challenge this month at Challenge YOUrself. Summer to me is beach and vacation and sunshine and happiness :)
I saw this quote on Instagram and knew immediately it was going to be a layout. This describes me perfectly. So I grabbed a photo from our most recent trip to Mexico. I couldn't decide where to go with my page though.
This is an old Studio Calico patterned paper, but I didn't like the bright gold so I painted my background with white acrylic paint mixed with Pink Stilettos Shimmerz Coloringz. Then I grabbed a ton of the pink Heidi Swapp Storyline embellishments and layered them up. I decided to try to stick to all the pink things I could find in my stash.
Thanks for looking!
