One sketch two cards
Two quick cards that I made based on the same sketch by Becky Fleck. Jolene from the Scrapbook Express DT used it for her weekly challenge last week. I am still using Jenni Bowlin September kit.
For this first card I followed the sketch pretty literally. I punched the balloons using Fiskars circle punch and added small handcut pieces to make them look more like balloons. The sentiment sticker is from very old Making Memories stickers sheet. It turned out cute but not cute enough. I decided to try again.

Supplies: patterned paper (Jillibean Soup), sticker (Making Memories), circle punch (Fiskars)

Supplies: patterned paper, sticker, stamps, enamel dots (My Mind's Eye), markers (Faber-Castell), ribbon (unknown)

This time I went for completely different look. I used the My Mind's Eye papers from the kit and distressed the edges for more aged look. I was happy to break down my new "The Sweetest Thing" stamp set that is from the same MME collection as the paper. I stamped the flowers on watercolor paper using Faber Castell brush markers, cut them out and arranged in the corner slightly curling the petals. I added three enamel dots to the centers of the flowers and a pink ribbon from my stash above the sentiment.. Love how this turned out!

I often get excited about a stamp set, buy it but never or rarely use it. I don't think this stamp set will be one of them. I love these flower doilies!

Lovebirds
It was a while since I made a layout based on Shimelle's Starting Points. Still using Jenni Bowlin September kit. I didn't cut any full sheets of paper to make my take on the starting point. The pink pearly lace is something I added to the kit (I had to find a home for this lace! It was sticking out of my drawer).
After the base was done I went to look for a picture. I found this one from May 1998 - my little sister and her then-boyfriend sitting on a couch in my parents' living room and holding a tiny white kitten. The kitten actually mine but my parents agreed to keep him while I was pregnant. We lived in a very small caravan and I wanted to stay away from the litter box.
Supplies: patterned paper (Jillibean Soup, My Mind's Eye), stickers (Jillibean Soup), letter stickers (Jenni Bolwin), lace (Recollections), heart and dove punch (Fiskars), glaze, mist (Tattered Angels), camera embellishments (Studio Calico), doily, staples
The hexagon stickers came with the kit. I painted the white doily with pink Glimmer Glaze and layered under the stickers.
Studio Calico cameras are misted with light blue Glimmer Mist.
Another picture scrapped, another story told.

Blog maintanence
I did few small changes to my blog layout. I added social media buttons to the left side bar just under the profile. I have links to my Facebook page, Pinterest, Flickr and RSS feed. Thanks to Kira from Her New Leaf for the great instructions and for the link to the adorable icons based on the Pantone Color of the Year made by Isa Maria.
I plan to do few other small changes but in general I like my layout with clean background. I admit that I don't appreciate blogs with busy backgrounds and especially with music playing. I am curious, what blog features do you find most annoying and what you find helpful?
