Happy First Day of School and saying good buy to Scrappy Hands

Hello my dear blog readers! It looks like another month passed without me visiting here. My excuse is that I've been busy. We had a very busy month filled with travels, family visit, graduation party and we are getting ready to say good buy to Lila as she is heading to college, eager to start her independent life.

But I still have a high school sophomore and a third grader and for them September 6th will mark a beginning of another school year.
I made a simple "Happy First Day of School" card to mark the occasion. I was inspired by the latest Scrappy Hands challenge. It says "Stationary" in English but I would translate it as "Writing Instruments"

I used a pencil sticker from the "K & Company" sticker sheet. I wanted to keep it simple so I designed my sentiment in Silhouette software, cut it from vinyl and used cardstock layers with small offset underneath the vinyl.

I used foam tape under the words for more dimension.

Sadly, this challenge is the last Scrappy Hands challenge. I enjoyed being part of the Design Team and working with these talented ladies. Stop by the blog and take an look on their take on out last challenge.

Happy new school year to everyone!

Hello pretty toes - Scrappy Hands flip flops challenge

Hello my dear blog readers! Time for another post and another Scrappy Hands challenge! This week the challenge theme is Flip Flops. Right away I knew I want to use a photo of my toes with the first toe decal I made. I am wearing flip flops in this picture so it fits the challenge perfectly :-)

Everything I used to make the layout is from the Boho collection from Michaels. I actually made this layout at the hotel we stayed during the weekend. Friday morning before we left I printed two copies of the picture, packed the paper pad, matching embellishments, pair of scissors and adhesive. On Saturday I spent an hour playing with paper and embellishments. I had an idea of what I want to do and everything came together quickly. It helps when you have limited options :)

I cut of the silhouette of my feet and layered them on the second copy of the picture using dimensional adhesive. They literally pop out the page.

Do you have an idea for flip flops paper project? We would love to see it! You can link it to our challenge linky right here.

Dream big and shine bright - Scrappy Hands sketch challenge

Hello my dear blog readers!

I am making a quick stop here just to share a new happy card I made for the latest Scrappy Hands challenge.

I used papers and embellishments made by Recollections that are sold at Michael's stores.

The big oval die cut is popped up with foam tape for more dimension.

I cut out the hexagons from the paper and layered in top small pieces of washi tape and triangle epoxy stickers.

Check how other DT members were inspired by the same sketch and share your take with us
