Cheeky Devil

      This fun image is from Dr. Digi and it's called "Cheeky Devil."  I love the whole idea of a wizard having an imp in a bottle!  How clever.  :-D

     I used water color paints again, then cut the image with a rectangle die from QuicKutz.  Once cut, I used a Fiskars punch on the corners of both the image and the mat behind it.  The plaid dp was in the scrap basket and I thought it worked well for a masculine card.  I think it was originally from a Recollections stack.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  I left it pretty CAS with no embellishment beyond the dp and the punched corners.

Dragonfly

      Today I want to share a card I made using a fun image from Pattie's Creations, which is called "Dragonfly 1."  I really love the way this came together.  

     I used water color paints to color the dragonfly, added loose glitter to the wings, and let it dry.  I used a Fiskars punch to round the corners after first cutting the image with a Spellbinders die.  The sentiment is mine, printed and cut by hand.

     The plaid background dp came from a stack by Your Next Stamp and the triple-loop bow was tied using my bow maker.

Noel for Benny

      This is my second DT card for Conie Fong using an image from the "Benny's Christmas" set, and the set just happens to be On Sale for a few more days!  This time I used the image with the adorable long-eared pup in it.

     The coloring was done with water color paints and a fine-line brush.  I'm getting better at controlling where the paint goes and how much I apply but water colors do have a mind of their own, especially when the image is printed onto water color paper.  

     I used dies from QuicKutz to cut the image and the red mat.  The dp is from an old Doodlebug stack which I've had maybe as much as 3 years so don't go looking for it in your local craft store.  The ribbon is metallic and I used it for both the wrap around the card front and to make the hand tied bow.  The 'Noel' sentiment was cut with a Cottage Cutz die.

'Tis the Season to Believe

      It's Monday and I'm sharing my DT reminder of the July challenge over at Jan's Digi Stamps.  Before getting to the challenge, I want to tell you that there is a Christmas in July Sale at the Jan's Digi Stamps shop. There are 36 Christmas themed sets on sale through the month of July!  In addition to that, Jan has released 3 NEW Digi Stamp Sets this month:  Believe, Sugar n' Spice and Ornaments 2022, which are on sale also.  The Ornaments 2022 set is a FREEBIE for everyone in appreciation for the support for Jan's Digi Stamps!

     For my DT card, I used one of the primary images from the "Believe" set (click on link above to see the whole set.)  I chose to use the pre-colored image because I'm still having vision problems which affect my vision and that affects my coloring.  I cut the image with a die from QuicKutz and matted it with dry embossed, green CS.  The plaid dp is from My Favorite Things and the red chevron dp is from Recollections.  A simple yet lovely Christmas card suitable for either male or female.

Garbage Can Bandit

      A month or 2 ago, I reached back several years and posted a card which featured the "Alley Cat" image from QKR Stampede, where our newest "Anything Goes" challenge starts today.  This time, I've combined that image with the "Guard Dog" and added  my own sentiment.

     The images were merged, then colored with ProMarkers, and cut with a die from Spellbinders.  The plaid dp is from a stack by Your Next Stamp.  I layered that on a peach card front, printed and cut the sentiment with an Avery Elle die, and called it finished.  I like the masculine feel to the relatively CAS design.

     I love using warm colors for summer cards because it fits the season.  I do the same with cool colors for winter cards, but that's a topic for later.  Today is predicted to be 106F where I live and it's been over 100F each day for the last 4 days and those will run for at least another week.  Yuck!

Benny's Christmas

      My card today features one of the three images in the Conie Fong set called "Benny's Christmas."  This is the one without a puppy but the other two images have cute puppies in them, one long-eared and one short-eared.  I'll use one of those on a card later this month.

     I'm working on my "water color" skills.  Last month, I suffered a vision problem and my eyesight is distorted enough that coloring with markers, even fine-line alcohol markers, is extremely difficult.  Water colors are more forgiving (the paint brush kind, not WC markers) but it's so much more difficult to get highlights and shading.  This is my best effort so far but I need more practice.

     The background dp is from Doodlebug and it's been in my stash for at least 3 years without being used!  High time to correct that oversight. I used a Fiskars corner punch on each layer.  The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed, and I added a hand-tied satin bow.

     This card is for my youngest great-grandson, who will celebrate his first birthday this coming December!
