Ellie Elephant

I discovered High Hopes Stamps a couple months ago and had to order some of their adorable images. Meet Ellie Elephant. She was the special last month. They have a special every month, but the stamps are still available. You just get a discount when they are the special. High Hopes Stamps is in Canada, but shipping was very reasonable and Tina (the owner) is a sweetheart to deal with! I got my stamps as just the rubber so I could use my current mounting system for unmounted stamps (Alene's Tack it Over and Over).

I did a lot of masking with my images. I stamped the single peanut and the peanut bag. Then, I masked them and stamped Ellie. Then, I cut my image out and put it on the vanilla cardstock. I distressed the edges of my cardstock and patterned papers using an edge distressor and then sewed the layers together. I made holes in my image panel to thread my twill through and then assembled the layers. Last, I added buttons and flowers with dew drops in their centers.

I received thie Kreativ Award from Adela Rossol. Thank you so much Adela! You are so sweet!

Have a great day!

Papertrey Blog Hop: Transparencies

I can't believe it's already the 25th of June!! It's time again for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. This month's challenge is to use transparencies. I love using transparencies, but they can be challenging sometimes. I can not wait to see what everyone came up with!!

The first thing I decided to created was transparency flowers. I stamped the flowers (from Beautiful Blooms) on transparencies and heat set. Then, I sprayed them using my copic markers and air compressor. I like how the color gradually gets lighter towards the end of the petals. After they were dry, I cut them out and set them aside to use on my card.

I started my card by making my card base from kraft cardstock. Then, I random stamped my patterned paper using one of the smaller flowers in the Beautiful Blooms set. I cut it to fit my card and matted it with black cardstock. Then, I punched my lace border on the lavender moon cardstock using a Martha Stewart punch. (It does not punch well through the PTI cardstock. I thought I was going to break it!) I added the cardstocks and patterned papers to my card. Then, I stamped my sentiment in the corner and added the flowers. Last, I stamped the polka dot flower centers, punched them out, and added them to my flower centers.

The second thing I wanted to create was an acetate nugget box. I created my template first and then cut it out of acetate (transparency). I included the template below. I assembled my box and then, stamped my nuggets. I stamped my tag and then punched it out. I punched a hole for my eyelet, set it, and threaded the tag with white floss. Last, I tied a red ribbon around my box and attached the tag.

I was definitely thinking of the upcoming holiday when I made these. I love how the stamps are all separate in the Limitless Labels stamp set because it makes it so easy to stamp each color.

The box would definitely be more sturdy made out of cardstock, but I love it made out of acetate so you can see the nuggets inside.

Here is the template for my nugget box. Measure and cut it out. Then, score all the lines and cut the dotted lines. When I was scoring my transparency, I first scored it while it was on top of my template so I could see where I need to score. Then, I scored all the lines again and folded them over and creased them to make them nice and crisp. I secured the flaps using glue dots.

I can't wait to see everyone's creations!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

iron on transfer info

I had quite a few questions about stamping and using iron on transfers on fabric on my towel set and on the set of t-shirts I made for my kids. Here is the info I posted on a previous post:

"Some tips for using stamps with iron ons:

I stamped the image on iron on transfer using Palette ink (since it works with fabric). I let them set over night to make sure the ink was dry and then lightly colored with copic markers. No blending because it will start to gum up the marker and the sticky on the iron on. (Make sure you clean your marker afterwards because it will have a little residue. Just scribble on scrap paper.) Then, iron it on."

I got my iron on transfers at a small, local craft store. The brand I used are Transfer Magic by Hanes. You can get iron on transfers at most craft stores and even at Walmart. They are the kind that you can run through your printer to make custom designs.

I first learned about this technique last month when Alli Miles posted about it on her blog. That link will take you to her original tutorial. Later, she answered some questions here.

I have not washed the t-shirts or towels I made yet, but Alli has lots of information on her blog post where she answered questions about everything from what to color with to washing.

Hope that helps and I would love to see what you make!! Have a great day!

School Riley

Okay, I'm not sure yet if this is Riley or Sophie because it could easily work for either. I inked the edges of the kraft cardstock. The folder was made using a coluzzle template.

Last card for tonight and I am pooped from posting here, posting in the gallery, and trying to keep up with the party! Any questions, please ask.

Have a great night!

Recipe
Stamps: School Riley (Hanna Stamps), Limitless Labels (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: white, kraft (Papertrey Ink), blue bayou (SU!)
Ink: noir (Palette), linen (Ranger)
Patterned Paper: Boxer (Basic Grey)
Accents: copper brads and photo turns
Tools: copic markers, nestability die, coluzzle file folder template

Baby Moose

There are 20 new Riley and Sophie stamps releasing tonight at Hanna Stamps. I didn't get a chance yet to stamp with all of them, but they are all super cute! I will have more over the next couple weeks, but I have to share the baby moose and Expecting Sophie moose.

This card is for the 5 challenge at the PJ party. The challenge was too be inspired by some pajamas. I used the pajama colors for my card. This is Baby Stroller Moose. Isn't that little moose peeking out of the stroller just too cute!! The binky charm is from the Hanna Stamps store. Kristi has lots of great charms that are perfect for cards. The buttons are button brads. They are so cute (made by Making Memories). And I finally got a Threading Water punch! I love scallops so I had to look for this punch when I was visiting my sister a couple weeks ago.

I've never seen a pregnant moose, but I bet they aren't quite as cute as Expecting Sophie! lol I stamped Sophie and colored her. Then, I stamped her on patterned paper and cut our her dress. I paper pieced it on Sophie and then cut out my moose and popped her up on the image panel. I added some fibers, a tag, and paper piecing to finish off my card.

Meet Baby Moose. So cute and it can be a boy or a girl. I wanted to make a card that was a different shape and could be used as an announcement or a congratulations card. I cut my cardstock 4 1/4 by 11 and scored it at just barely under 4 1/2 inches and 9 inches. Then, I added patterned paper and my baby moose. I cut my sentiment tag using a nestability ribbon tag die. While it was still in the die, I sprayed it with a copic marker using my air compressor. When I removed it from the die, I was left with a white border. Then, I stamped my sentiment and added it to my card using a pink ribbon.

Here you can see where the flap folds up.

And here is the bottom flap folded down. You could easily add details for a new addition to your family with a photo on one of the flaps or congrats on the birth of a new baby.

One more card to share tonight. I am getting worn out!! lol

Santa Riley and Turkey Riley

If you're a new subscriber or one who's been here before, I just want to let you know this isn't the norm for me to post this many times in one night. We're having the PJ party over in the Hanna Stamps forum and no one knew about the release of the new Rileys and Sophies until it was announced tonight at the party. That's why everything is being posted at once. Normally, the posts would be spread out. Sorry, they're all being posted at once!!

The next challenge is to use something fuzzy on your card. I knew I wanted to flock Santa Riley's beard and hat so this one was easy. Isn't he cute?!

Adding flock to an image is super easy. Just add some type of adhesive (I used a Sakura glue pen). Press the fun flock down into the glue really well after you sprinkle it on and let it dry. Then, tap the excess flock off.

Here's a close up so you can see his fuzzy beard and hat. I also added stickles to the snowflakes.

The fourth challenge is to use two punches. I used the Designer Label punch from SU! with a circle punch. Turkey Riley is another of the new Rileys being released tonight.

Recipe
Stamps: Turkey Riley, Santa Riley (Hanna Stamps), Holiday Wishes, Limitless Labels (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: white (Papertrey Ink), real red, soft sky (SU!)
Patterned Paper: Figgy Pudding (Basic Grey), Fall Flowers (SU!)
Accents: red satin ribbon (Target), copper brads, stickles (Ranger), fun flock
Tools: copic markers, Designer Label punch, circle punch, nestability dies, glue pen (Sakura)

Super Moose

The second challenge tonight at the PJ party is to use stars. Super Moose to the rescue!! HA HA HA

Everything is very straight forward. If you have questions, please ask. Sorry for the flood of posts. I'm trying to keep up at the party and am getting behind.

Recipe
Stamps: Super Moose (
Hanna Stamps), Limitless Labels (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: noir (Palette)
Cardstock: white (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Boxer (Basic Grey)
Accents: red ribbon
Tools: copic markers, nestability star and rectangle dies, dimensional glaze

Baking Riley

When I saw the new Baking Riley, I knew I wanted to create a set of towels that could be given as a gift. I stamped Riley on iron on transfers and colored him with copic markers. After I iron the image on the towels, I created a simple band. I matted the blue patterned paper with white cardstock to create a band. Then, I cut a scalloped oval out and stamped the sentiment and ovals dots. I punched a hole in each end of the oval to thread my ribbon through and tied the bow.

Some tips for using stamps with iron ons:

I stamped the image on iron on transfer using Palette ink (since it works with fabric). I let them set over night to make sure the ink was dry and then lightly colored with copic markers. No blending because it will start to gum up the marker and the sticky on the iron on. (Make sure you clean your marker afterwards because it will have a little residue. Just scribble on scrap paper.) Then, iron it on.

A close up of Baking Riley. (The new Rileys and Sophies will be available tonight)

Edited to Add: I answered questions and gave some great links on this post.
