Birthday Daisies

Hi there

I'm back with a quick post to share a card with you.  I'm almost back to normal at home, just some cleaning and tidying up to do before I can get my craft space back properly, but I managed to grab a little space to make this one today.

I stamped the daisies in VersaMark ink before heat embossing with white embossing powder.  I then picked up some orange and green Memento ink with a waterbrush and coloured in the centre of the daisies and the leaves.  The sentiment was stamped in the same orange ink.  I die cut the images with a stitched rounded rectangle die.  The panel was popped up on 3D foam and I then rounded the corners of the card base to finish.

Materials used:

  • Cardstock: Neenah - Desert Storm
  • Stamps: Stampin' Up - Both Way Blossoms; Clearly Besotted - Many Mini Messages
  • Ink: VersaMark; Memento - Tangelo and Cottage Ivy
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Opaque Bright White
  • Die: MFT Die-namics - Stitched Rounded Rectangles
  • Tools: Tonic corner rounder

Challenge entries:

Thanks for popping by.  I'll be back fairly soon to share some photos of why I've been in a mess and unable to create!

Addicted to Stamps and More #132

Hi there

Those of you that visit me regularly will know that there's a reason for a post late at night on a Tuesday...and that reason is a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.  And this week it's time for another challenge where we want you to...

Make Your Mark
You must 'make your mark' on your creations using materials such as markers, paints, chalks, watercolour, sponging, etc.

This week's sponsor is QKR Stampede who are offering 3 digis to one lucky winner.

Here is my DT card this week, using one of our sponsor's images...

I printed this adorable digi image onto some white cardstock and coloured it in with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers,  This is a great little image which can be used for any love related card or even a friendship card.  I stamped a sentiment above the image and cut the whole image out using a fishtail flag die.  I covered the card base with some woodgrain patterned paper and then die cut some co-ordinating dotty paper using a smaller die from the same fishtail die set.  I adhered the two die cuts and then punched out some tiny hearts from black cardstock and adhered these next to the sentiment before giving them some shimmer with some Wink of Stella.

Materials used:
  • Digi Image: QKR Stampede - Watching Together
  • Stamp: Clearly Besotted - Paired Up
  • Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Patterned Paper: Doodlebug - Kraft in Color - Kraft
  • Dies: MFT Die-namics - Fishtail Flag Stax
  • Punch: Craft Creatives - Mini Heart
  • Accents: Wink of Stella - Clear

Ooh La La Creations - Guest Designer!

Hi guys

Today I'm back to share my second card for my Guest Designer spot for February with Ooh La La Creations.

Thanks so much to Anne for inviting me to join her team this month and to the rest of the Design Team for making me feel so welcome.

For this new challenge we want you to 'Add Something Green' to your creations.  Here's my card...

For this card I started by adding some Ooh La La Creations digi paper to my card base.  I chose this strawberry design and then used a stamp set by Clearly Besotted to carry on the strawberry theme.  I used a scalloped edge die to cut the bottom of the white cardstock panel and then cut a couple of notches on either side at the top to secure the twine in place.  The white cardstock panel was then adhered using 3D foam.

Materials used:

  • Digi Paper: Ooh La La Creations - Watermelon Mice collection from the Everyday Occasions CD Rom
  • Stamp: Clearly Besotted - Tasty Treats
  • Dies: Clearly Besotted - Tasty Treats and Scalloped Edges Die Collection
  • Ink: Versa Color - Burgundy, Olive, Ash Rose and Sage; Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Twine: Hemptique - Emerald collection

Namaste

Hi there

This is going to be a super quick post as it's already past my bedtime but I wanted to get this card linked up.

I made this one for my bestie who celebrated her birthday last week.  She loves her yoga so I found the perfect digi image for her from Pink Petticoat.  And I must have been psychic as the colours I used for this are the same as the colour challenge at Less is More this week!

Here it is...

I began by printing the digi on white card, coloured it in with ProMarkers and then cut it out with an oval stitched die.  I then masked of my card base, leaving the bottom corner free and applied embossing paste through a stencil.  This is a new one I purchased recently and I love the effect, I think you could be seeing this one a lot more!  I stamped the sentiment, popped the image panel up on 3D foam and lastly added the friend die cut which was cut from pink card.

Materials used:

  • Digi: Pink Petticoat - Lola Rose Namaste
  • Coloured with ProMarkers
  • Dies: Lil' Inkers - Stitched Ovals; Clearly Besotted - Friend Word Die
  • Stencil: Memory Box - Texture Scraped Paint
  • Embossing Paste: Dreamweaver
  • Stamps: Stampin' Up - Fabulous Phrases
  • Ink: Versa Color - Sky Gray

Challenge entries:

Less is More - Colour Challenge - Pink and Grey
Happy Little Stampers - February CAS Challenge - Embossing
Cute Card Thursday - Challenge #360 - Perfectly Pink

That's all for today, I'm off to bed now.  I hope to see you again soon.

Watercolour Heart

Hi there

While I still had time I wanted to make another card for the Love theme challenge at AAA Cards.  But rather than just making a love theme card I wanted to use the challenge image as my inspiration.

Here is my card.  Apologies for the rubbish pic, it was impossible to take a photo without getting the glare from my lamp.  Hurry up Spring so I can have some lighter evenings!...

Here is the challenge image...

I started by adding a wash to some watercolour paper then smooshed around some pink, purple and blue paint.  While that was drying I cut a piece of black cardstock to fit my card base and die cut a heart.  I then adhered the watercoloured panel behind the aperture before adhering the whole panel to my card base.  I then cut a smaller heart from the remaining black card and stamped and heat embossed the sentiment.  This was popped up on 3D foam in the centre.

Materials used:

  • Cardstock: Papermania - Black Premium Textured Cardstock; Watercolour card - budget pad from local shop
  • Watercolours: Daler Rowney
  • Dies: Xcut - Nested Hearts
  • Stamps: Clearly Besotted - Love Hearts and Thank You
  • Ink: VersaMark
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Metallic Platinum (love this colour!)

I would also like to link up at the following challenges:

One Layer Chalk and Ink

Hi guys

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you, I've actually made a card and written a post!

The chaos being caused by the new kitchen in still in full swing but I managed to grab a small space amongst the clutter and dust to make a card.  I couldn't let this week pass by without entering a card over at Less is More for their 4th birthday.  Less is More was one of the very first challenges I discovered and I'm gutted I've missed so many challenges so far this year, but hopefully I can soon get back to normal and get my craft workspace back properly!

It's a colour challenge at Less is More and they want us to use Pink and Grey on our creations.  So here's what I made...

I thought I'd reach for my chalks as I hadn't used them for ages so I masked off a rectangle and blended three pink shades with cotton wool to create the background.  I then simply stamped the silhouette, butterfly and sentiment in Memento ink and that was it, done :)

Materials used:

  • Chalks: Craf-T Products - Decorating Chalk
  • Stamps: Inkylicious - Meadow Breeze; Wild Rose Studio - Everyday Greetings
  • Ink: Memento - London Fog

I would also like to enter this card at the following challenge blogs:

One Layer Simplicity - Challenge #13 - You Blend (chalks)
CAS on Sunday - Challenge #51 - Flowers

Thanks so much for visiting today, and I hope it won't be too long before I'm back with more to share.

Addicted to Stamps and More #130

Hi there

Yet another week has whizzed by and we're ready with a another new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More.  This week, it's the turn of a...

Photo Inspiration challenge.
You can take any element from the photo that inspires you: the layout, image, colours, etc.

And with Valentine's Day coming up this month we've got a love themed photo for you...

This week's challenge sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps and the winning prize is 7 digis!

Here is my DT card

I started by printing the digi sentiment on some white cardstock.  I then stamped the brush stroke images in rows in pale pink, pink and red before cutting it into a panel with a rectangular die.  Next I used some small heart dies to cut out some hearts from white and black cardstock.  The white hearts were coloured using the co-ordinating ink pads.  The panel and hearts were then adhered to the card base and I finished by adding some Glossy Accents to the three hearts.  I took my inspiration from lots of things here...the colours, the rows, the rectangle and the bold font.  This was super easy to make and I love how it turned out.

Materials used:
  • Digi: Pink Petticoat - Happy Heart Sentiments
  • Stamp: Stampin' Up! - Work of Art
  • Ink: Memento - Angel Pink, Lady Bug and Rose Bud
  • Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities - Classic Rectangles; Lawn Fawn - Heart dies
  • Accents: Glossy Accents

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Time Out Challenges - Challenge #23 - Valentine's Day with optional twist of Hearts
Just Us Girls - Challenge #278 - Sentiment as Focal Point
Simply Create Too - Challenge #78 - Valentine / Use Hearts
Inkspirational - Challenge #75 - Rose Colours
Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Love
Fantasy Stampers - Challenge #29 - P.S. I Love You

There is some fab inspiration from my fellow teamies over at ATSM so why not pop over and show them some love at the same time :)

Thanks for popping by, I hope to see you again soon.
