Kubus / Cube

Deze kubus had ik nog half afgewerkt liggen van mijn kubussenmanie vorig jaar. Dit weekend heb ik 'm verder geverfd, wat plaatjes en wijze woorden erop en hij was klaar voor een vriendin die 40 wordt. Het bijzondere van dit patroon is dat hij plat verstuurd kan worden en in model springt als hij uit de envelop gehaald wordt, echt een verrassing :-)




This cube was one of my UFO's (unfinished objects) of last years cube mania. This weekend I finished it by painting it some more, adding vintage ladies and adding some wise lessons. Now it's ready to be send to a friend who will be 40 soon. The fun thing is that it can be send flat in an envelope and it will junp into shape when she removes it from the envelope, a real surprise :-)

Red Plaid Bubbles

Daar snapt natuurlijk niemand iets van: rood geruite bellen... Het is de titel van deze atc voor Linda, haar alias in de diverse forums is Redplaid3, vandaar.
Tina kwam met het plan om Linda te gaan bedelven onder verjaardags atc's. De opdracht was om er in ieder geval een feesthoedje op te verwerken. Vandaag is haar verjaardag, ik hoop dat de atc er op tijd was.
That title is unclear for most of you I guess. I used it to name Linda's birthday atc, her nickname is Redplaid3, so that clears it.
Tina had the idea to shower Linda with atc's for her birthday. We had to make one with a party hat. Today is her birthday, I do hope this atc reached her in time.

Een van mijn bellenblaas achtergrondjes, rode acrylverf om 'MUSE' (Ma Vinci's) te stempelen. Het meisje heb ik ooit eens gekregen, haar schattige hoedje vond ik in een hoedencatalogus op het internet.
One of my bubble backgrounds, red acrylicpaint to stamp 'MUSE' (Ma Vinci's). The girl image was a gift from one of my friends, I found the cute hat in a catalog on the internet.

Visboek / Fishbook

Geschreven in de 16de eeuw door Adriaen Coenensz. Hij werkte er 3 jaar aan en tekende en beschreef alle vreemde mensen, beesten, planten en streken waar hij van hoorde in die snel uitbreidende wereld. De KB heeft het boek gerestaureerd en volledig (!) op de website gezet. Echt heel erg de moeite waard.

Written in the 16th century by Adriaen Coenensz. He worked 3 year to finish this book. He described and draw all strange people, creatures, plants and countries he heard of in that fast expanding world. It's restaurated by The Royal Library and posted on the internet completely (!). Really worth to take a look.
