Zomaar een leuk plaatje van de koning van onze vijver. Ik postte 'm al eerder op m'n Facebookpagina van Papieren Avonturen.

Ik wilde een nieuw notitieboekje
I wanted a new notebook

en wel graag een vrolijke
and it had to be a cheerful one 

Dus eens door de voorraad gerommeld en er lag nog een schrift van vorig jaar

(en tape van dit jaar)

So I looked through my stash and stumbled on a last years notebook

(and this years tape)

Het schrift doormidden gesneden en ik had er twee :) De nietjes heb ik laten zitten, ik hou er wel van om het niet moeilijker te maken dan het is.
(meestal dan toch)
Cut the notebook in half and I had two :) I kept the staples that were already in the spine 'cause I'm a strong believer in not making more fuss than necessary.
(at least most of the time that is)

Een beetje plakband doet wonderen op saaie notitieboekjes. Kwartiertje werk en je bent een orgineel aantekenboekje rijker.

A little tape works wonders on such dull note books. Less than fifteen minutes hands on and you are the owner of a one of a kind notebook.

Even over papierklemmetjes... 'k weet het niet, op een of andere manier eindig ik altijd met een paar nieuwe in m'n winkelmandje...
A word about paper clamps... I'm not sure why, one way or the other always a few new ones end up in my shopping basket...

Drie boekbindboeken bij in m'n verzameling:
Three bookbinding books added to my collection:

• Crisscross Binding ('the secret Belgian binding') - Anne Goy (the developer of this binding) 
  Higly recommended when you're into this innovative binding. She describes the proces of the development since the eighties(!) and explains two variations of the binding with clear photos.

• Innovative Bookbinding: secret compartments and hidden messages - Shereen LaPlantz
  There was a lot of work done before the reprint was a fact, you can read the story here: 23Sandy Gallery

• Leather Books - Karli Frigge
  Handbound(!) in a paper cover by Karli Frigge. Two leather bindings are described in text and drawings. This is how I want to make a leather book soon :)

Alle drie van de eerste tot de laatste letter gelezen en al lezend heb ik in gedachten de handelingen al uitgevoerd. Ik weet zeker dat ik een paar hobbels op m'n weg ga vinden :) Zeker geen boeken voor beginnende boekbinders, verder munten ze uit in duidelijkheid!

All three read from the first to last page and while reading I performed all the operations in my mind already. I'm pretty sure there will be some bumps on the road for me :)  Sure not books for beginning bookbinders, that said all are very clear to follow!

De andere drie boeken zijn redelijk algemeen verkrijgbaar, het zijn boeken om heerlijk door te bladeren en te genieten van alle kleur. Maar natuurlijk zijn ze uiteindelijk ook bedoeld om mee aan de slag te gaan. Binnenkort, nog even wachten, ik ben vandaag voor het eerst sinds 6 weken weer aan het werk gegaan :)

The other three books are widely available, I have feasted my eyes on all the colors in those three books and am itching to pick up some brushes and paint. Which have to wait a little as I'm started at my job again first day since 6 weeks  :)
