Digi Choosday Week 9

Hi Everyone, Tuesday has rolled around once again, which means you can grab new discount code over at DIGI CHOOSDAY, ready for our new ATG challenge.

The Design team were asked to use a design sheet this week, which is a great way to make a super quick card, when you need one in a hurry.

I have used a design sheet from Helga Hippo, it has such lovely spring colours.

I used most of the items from this sheet, with only a couple of banners left.

I just added a couple of extra die cuts, backing paper and a little liquid pearls.

Spring Sprites - Hyacinth

Welcome to my second Sprite Showcase the beautiful Hyacinth.

I decided to do another water colour background, I really like how the colours mix and the random patterns you get.

But this time I have put her in an 8 x 8 frame and she will be a Mothers Day gift for my lovely Mum.

I created the white insert in the Silhouette studio and added some iridescent gems to the bottom of the frame.

I also added tiny gems to the centre of each flower.

Spring Sprites - Crocus

It has been a while, since we had a new Showcase over at Aurora Wings , but today we have two new sprites to share with you.

The first is the lovely 'Crocus Sprite'

I have used Copics to colour the main image and a mix of Kuretake Gansai Tambi water colours for the background.

I decided to do my crocus in the more common yellow, as this is the  colour I have been seeing on the grass verges on my journey to work, they are just starting to bloom.

Digi Choosday - Week 8

Welcome to week 8 over at DIGI CHOOSDAY, where our new ATG challenge begins and a new discount code is up on the Challenge Blog.

It's been a busy time over at Polka Doodles Towers and with all my time taken, creating for the recent Darling Buds collection, I plumped for a quick and easy card this week.

I have used 3 pre-coloured images from Darling Buds and merged them together.

I have used Dahlia, Hyacinth and Tulip, to create my girly gang of Best Friends.

The paper is from First Edition - Love Letters and a vinyl sentiment from the Silhouette store.

Darling Buds - Daffodil

It's time to share my final DT inspiration card for the Polka Doodles Darling Buds launch,

She is of course another beauty - DAFFODIL, coloured using my favourite medium Copics.

I have made a simple rocker card, layered with doilies and a giant hand tied golden Bow.

Daydreaming

It's time for a new Colour Crazy Challenge, the challenge where you can use any colouring medium you like and the theme is Anything Goes.

This week we are sponsored by All Dressed Up and I have used the lovely 'Dreaming of Summer', who else can't wait for longer warmer days?

My image has been coloured with a mix of Copics and Spectrum Noir Pencils.

I used a wall embossing folder for the background.

I really wanted her to be looking out of a window, but I didn't have a suitable die, so I designed my own shutter window, using the Silhouette Software.

Finally adding some die cut grass & vines, pearl centred flowers and a cheeky wooden snail.

I look forward to seeing everyones beautiful colouring this week.

Today I am here to share my forth Polka Doodles Darling Buds, she is another Cracker (aren't they all).

Coloured with Copics, here is DAHLIA.

 I started by doing a colour wash with my Kuretake Gansai Water colour paints, using Red. Orange, Yellow and a touch of Gold.

Once dry I mounted onto a pearlescent copper card base.

I added a row of pearls and some wooden dandelions.

Hopefully this photo shows a hint of the shimmer, that is all over the colour wash.
