FWF

Hi everyone!
Since this is the last Friends with Flair of 2015 I just had to play along. Besides, I got some Spectrum Noir markers for Christmas.

I also gave away most of the cards I made so I have to replenish my supply. :)

Hope everyone has a FABULOUS NEW YEAR!!

Merry Christmas!

 Hi Everyone!

This week is number 81 for PaperCrafter's Corner! The inspiration piece is ADORABLE!

I tried several different things using this as my inspiration.

The first card with a Unity stamp:
I took the holly from the inspiration. I like it but I wanted to try something different. Then I created this card with a Momenta stamp:
I like this one better for the challenge. It has the diamond and the holly. Plus it has a more vintage feel.
While I had everything out I notice an unfinished card. And so I made a third card:
Not for the challenge.....just for fun. And, speaking of fun....I won this stamp from Stampendous and just HAD to ink it up.
It's so CUTE!

We finally put our tree up. The only decorations on it are big white flowers. I wanted to see what our cat Jack would do.
It didn't take any time at all for him to climb into the tree!
Since this is my last post before the holiday I want to wish everyone a
VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Almost forgot Stephanie at PaperCrafter's Corner has started her 12 days of GIVEAWAYS!

Week 80!

Hi Everyone!

Over at PaperCrafter's Corner is challenge number 80! I love this weeks inspiration:

The scene is so serene. Although I have to admit, I really don't like snow. Only pictures of it. :)
For my card I took the blues and the snow with a pop of red.

I used Gelatos in shades of blue and white for the background. Next I stamped a Crafter's Workshop stencil called Winter Wonderland using Clearsnap frost white. I used another TCW stencil for the 'joy' and a Faber Castell big brush pen. Lastly, I punched the snowflake and covered it with an iridescent glitter glue.

I've been noticing that many people have already put up their Christmas tree. Have you? There are 2 reasons why we haven't yet. We have a really big tree and a small house. Furniture has to be removed for the tree to fit. The other reason is we have Jack.

Although looking so sweet here he knocked down many ornaments by climbing through the tree last year....when he was smaller. This year he might just bring the tree down!

Have a GREAT week!

Christmas cards

Hi Everyone!

I can hardly believe that Christmas is almost here. I am almost done shopping. I still haven't wrapped anything....or decorated. Next weekend is when I'll probably get the decorating done. :)

Anyway....This is week 79 for the PaperCrafter's Challenge:

With this image what else could I make but Christmas cards! Before I show the card I want to tell you where the paper came from. I received a Christmas card in the mail and the inside of the envelope had this awesome lining.  I couldn't just throw it out. Soooooo I made these cards:

Has anyone heard of Susan K. Weckesser? She is an artist and stamp designer for Unity Stamps. For the past 5 years she has hosted what is called the Christmas Love Campaign. This is year 6. The whole idea is to create things to give away. You can post your creation and story to her blog, Facebook, Instagram. There are even prizes. So these cards and more will be given away. I'm thinking of giving a whole box of cards to the local headstart program where my sister works.
I hope you'll check it out and join in!

PCC #78

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving! Ours was very enjoyable. My son's friend (my 'adopted' son) and his girlfriend,  joined us for dinner. I wasn't going to go shopping last night but my daughter wanted a few things that were sure to sell out if we waited. In my defense, we didn't go out till after 10. So that means today is very quiet. Sooooo, I made a card.

At first I couldn't think of anything. But I started with the blue background, then the boxes, then the title,.....

I hand drew the 'Thanks' and the butterflies are natural bark from Prima.
You have till Sunday night to join in. It's always fun to play along!
Now I'm off to see what else I can make. :)

Mixed Media

Hi Everyone!

Have you ever made something unintentionally?
That's what happed with this little canvas.
I had this canvas all done up once but everything was falling off. So, I ripped everything off and put it aside. I have been cleaning up my scraping area when I came across a few sheets of paper that I used to show my sister the ink and alcohol technique. One of them fit the canvas so I glued it on. I didn't know what to do with it.
So back to cleaning.I found a bin of old Making Memories paint. I was just about to throw it out. When I realized that it was about the thickness of modeling paste. Would it work like modeling paste? I grabbed a stencil and gave it a try. It WORKED!
I remembered the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge and figured I could enter it. But the challenge was to use STAMPS. Good thing the Heidi Swapp stencil I used had 3 parts.I used the butterfly cutout as a mask and stamped the background with a Unity/Christy Tomlinson stamp. I did a little more distressing, added the stamped word and I now have a finished canvas.

Wishing everyone a
 HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

PCC #77

Hi everyone!

This week's inspiration at PaperCrafter's Corner challenge is this wonderful Walt Disney cover:

I couldn't figure out what to do since I have very little (if any) Disney. But I did like that red border.....and it is close to Christmas.

I stamped the Santa image on watercolor paper and on cardstock. For the watercolor one I took out my Gelatos to color it.

I really liked it for the challenge. But I still had the other stamped Santa.

So now I have two Christmas cards ready to go. :)
The stamp is from the Karen Meder Collection,  the Peddler's Pack.

A Little Mixed Media

Hi Everyone!

I have been looking around the web this week at blogs, Pinterest, YouTube....
A few places made me want to get out my Gelatos. I wanted to use the new PaperCrafter's Corner as my main inspiration.

Here is what I created:

This little canvas was bought from the dollar bin at Michael's. It originally had fruit or something on it. I've painted it with gesso, white paint, black paint, grey paint, and back to gesso, and back to white. I just couldn't figure out what I wanted to do. Until now.

I took from the inspiration the colors, the red title and the round globe. I began by adding the Gelatos around the edges then worked my way in to the center. I stamped and gold embossed the 'capture confident dreams' Unity stamp. I kept adding Gelatos and wiping it off to finally get it to where the image could be seen. The chipboard letters were painted white then I used red and black Gelatos to color them.

Because of the products I used this also fits with two more challenges..Bonus!
