I will walrus be your friend

Here's another triangle card working with this sketch. I love this walrus set by Stampin Up. All stamps are by a different company but I kinda like how it came out.

Cut It Up Challenge #188 -- Tic Tac Toe

For this week's challenge at Cut It Up, we are to make a card using this Tic Tac Toe chart. I am doing Any Sketch, Brads/Bling and Design Paper. The sketch I am using can be found here. I got my moose image from Stinkin' Cute paper Piecings and you can find them here. I can't wait to see what you do for this challenge at Cut It Up. Please remember to use a die cut for this challenge.

You're slothsome

It's Thanksgiving Day here in the US and it's the first time I am not cooking in 30 YEARS!! We are going to our daughter's boyfriend's house for dinner and I have to bring 1 dish - I'm bringing Mountain Dew Apples. It's so GOOD!!! You can find the recipe here.

Have you seen the brand new masking stencils by Taylored Expressions? Oh my. Here's the link if you want to see them. They have 4 different ones, circles, ovals, rectangles and squares. I had to get all 4 because after watching a few videos I was convinced 1) they are a game changer 2) I can't just pick one size. This masking stencil made this card sooooo easy to create. Just place the stencil on your paper, blend your fave ink using a blending brush, then place another stencil over top while still taped to sheet of paper and use your blending brush to put the stencil on top of the circle. I am not sure this makes any sense but that's how I did it. Easy peasy!! I colored this sloth with my Koi watercolor paints and then fussy cut around him and added him to the card. The sentiment is computer generated because the only sloth sayings I have are "birthday sayings". Also, Taylored Expressions is in Iowa (I'm in NC) and I ordered them last Thursday and I got them on Monday. 3 days!!! I love fast service!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!! I'm so thankful for all of you who read my blog and leave me comments. I really do appreciate it!

Adulting is hard, friends help

I stamped this adorable moose from Purple Onion Designs onto kraft cardstock. Then I stamped his scarf and mittens onto white cardstock, colored them in red and paper pieced it back onto the moose. I am sending this to a friend battling breast cancer.

Birthday Blessings

I have to get a birthday card out and I love this image by Unity Stamps. It's perfect for "winter" birthday cards or anything in the cold months. (It's not even winter yet but it sure has felt like it the past few days in North Carolina) For the stripes, I brushed on these 2 colors using Catherine Pooler's Aquatini and Icing on the Cake. I then, watercolored the rest of the image. If you haven't tried her inks yet, I HIGHLY recommend them. You can watercolor with them or just use them straight to paper. I love that in an ink pad :).  I have about 1/2 the colors and I hope to get the others with any Christmas money I get from Santa :).
