Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Mother's Day Tag using Simon Says Stamp's Luggage Tags Die Set

It's another week and that means another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is upon us.  This week's theme is Mother's Day/Feminine.  We're also highlighting products from our very own Simon Says Stamp!

I started by cutting out a tag using Simon's Luggage Tags die set.  These shapes are classic and I love the size variety.  Once my tag was cut, I collaged a background, which includes this fabulous worn text from Simon's Heart Suite stamp set.  I love, love, LOVE a good text stamp!

For the focal point, I picked a picture from Tim Holtz's Photobooth set and used some of his wallpaper behind it.  I also stamped some polka dots onto a piece of paper and cut it into a scallop shape.  I typed my sentiment on a typewriter and it's one that I believe is true.  My life has forever been changed for the better by good women.

I assembled the images, did some more scribbling and decided the tag needed something to finish it off at the top.  I cut a cute bow shape from Simon's Pine and Post die set.

I painted the bow to match the rest of the tag and glued it to the top.  My tag was done!

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Bear Notebook Cover using Dina Wakley's Scribbly Bears Stamp Set and AALL & Create's Driplight Die

Welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!  Our theme this week is "four legged friends."  I grew up with pet allergies (cats were absolutely deadly!!) so I went with a bear for my four legged creature feature.  This bear collage now forms the cover of an upcycled book I'm looking forward to filling in.

I started by cutting and painting this drippy frame shape from AALL & Create's Driplight die set.  Next I stamped a bear sketch from Dina Wakley's Scribbly Bears stamp set.  I colored my bear in with Distress Watercolor Pencils.  I also found a Tim Holtz Collage Frame and painted that.

I turned the drip die sideways and layered all the elements.  Then I forgot to take a bunch of progress pictures and made a collaged background for these elements.  I glued everything together and added a "Be True" Tim Holtz quote chip.  I glued my collage to the front of an upcycled book.  I also added some Tim Holtz Cello Sticker Tape around the edges and scribbled around the whole cover in pencil.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Use More Than One Stencil (Kate Crane PS455 and PS483 Stencils)

Welcome to another Monday and another creative challenge!  This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog theme is "use more than one stencil."  I used two stencils from Kate Crane: PS455 and PS483 to make a card.

I started by watercoloring and painting on a page like so:

While that dried, I used paint and two of Kate Crane's Stencils to make patterns and some focal elements.

I cut a deckled rectangle for my card base using a Mama Elephant die set and kraft cardstock.  I glued a piece of my watercolored paper to it, then I glued on a piece of the red and white stenciled paper.  Next I cut out the plus sign shapes and outlined them in black Sharpie.  I glued them to the front of my card.

To finish it off, I added more paint around the edges, along with some Distress Watercolor pencil scribbles.  I stamped some small dots on with a Seth Apter stamp and added some collaged paper scraps.  I stamped a sentiment from Tim Holtz's Theories set, cut it out and glued it on as a last touch.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Bright and Cheerful Card using AALL & Create's Film Drip and Retro Numbers Dies

What great joy was mine when I learned about this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog theme: Bright and Cheerful!  I made a card for the occasion using some bold Odile Bailloeul Festival fabric and dies from AALL & Create.

I started by cutting some shapes with AALL & Create's Film Drip and Retro Numbers die sets.  I always like to explore the negative shapes (what's left behind after you cut the intended shapes) in addition to the intended shapes.  I painted the shapes not knowing for sure which I would use in this project.

While the paint dried, I tore up some scraps of fabric.  This is a great collection: Odile Bailloeul Festival.

All that was left to do was play with the layout and glue down the painted paper shapes and the fabric.

To finish it off, I painted white around the edges and added some stamped sentiments from Tim Holtz's Seasonal Scribbles stamp set.
