Fodder Challenge 2024 #3

 

Last month I joined Fodder Challenge 2024, an online event hosted by Willa Wanders aka Wendy Solganik.

During October a bunch of artists taught us how to make the most amazing collage fodder.

Vorige maand nam ik deel aan Fodder Challenge 2024, een online cursus georganiseerd door Willa Wanders aka Wendy Solganik.

De hele maand oktober leerden allerlei artiesten ons technieken voor het maken van collage materiaal.

For the lesson by Amanda Trought I did some painting, stamping, stenciling and even sewing on dried leaves.

Voor de les van Amanda Trought ging ik verven, stempelen, stencilen en zelfs naaien op gedroogde bladeren.

As with the previous challenges I again couldn't stop :)

Net zoals bij de vorige opdrachten was het weer moeilijk om te stoppen :)

Working on these big leaves wasn't that different from working on an art journal page.

Werken op deze grote bladeren was niet zo anders dan werken op een art journal pagina.

And yes the leaves are real ones :)

En ja het zijn echte bladeren :)

Fodder Challenge 2024 #1

During October a bunch of artists are teaching us how to make the most amazing collage fodder.

Ik neem deel aan Fodder Challenge 2024, een online cursus georganiseerd door Willa Wanders aka Wendy Solganik.

De hele maand oktober leren artiesten ons allerlei technieken voor het maken van collage materiaal.

In the fist lesson Tracey Wozniak showed us how to make mixed media mushrooms/toadstools.

As most of the participants, I couldn't stop making mushrooms :)

In de eerste les toonde Tracey Wozniak ons hoe je mixed media paddenstoelen maakt. Net zoals veel van de deelnemers kon ik niet stoppen met het maken van paddenstoelen :)

I used a few of the mushrooms on cards already.

Een aantal van de paddenstoelen al gebruikt op kaarten.

I used backgrounds from my stash, mostly gel prints.

Ik werkte met achtergronden uit mijn voorraad, vooral gel prints.

I added strips of handmade paper...

Reepjes handgeschept papier opgeplakt...

...and marks done with stamps.

...en stempelwerk toegevoegd.

For the wishes I used various Darkroom Door stamps.

Voor de wensen gebruikte ik Darkroom Door stempels.

This lesson was a good opportunity to finally dig up my PaperArtsy Infusions and Brusho's.

Dit lesje was een goede gelegenheid om eindelijk nog eens mijn PaperArtsy Infusions en Brusho's boven te halen.

Ferns

I applied shades of orange, fuchsia and pink paint to a panel of grey cardstock. At the left handside I put the Crackle stencil on top of the wet paint and wiped away some of the paint through the stencil using baby wipes. At the right I sponged pink paint through the same stencil.

Op grijs kaartkarton een aantal tinten oranje, fuchsia en lichtroze verf uitgesmeerd. Links de Crackle stencil op de nog natte verf gelegd en verf weggepoetst met een babydoekje. Rechts gesponst met lichtroze doorheen dezelfde stencil.

I did the ferns using a stencil and fuchsia paint.

Voor de varens gebruikte ik een stencil en fuchsia verf.

I used a small glass to stamp the circle around the text.

De rand van een klein glaasje beïnkt om de cirkel rond de tekst te stempelen.
