4 cards to share

I colored this image "Cherish Christmas" by ching chou kuiks at Sweet Pea Stamps (sheet #21/ Plate #60) and decided I wanted to cover it with some glossy accents to make it look like glass. As I set down to create a card for her I had this idea of creating a card that looks like a church. I remembered I had a stained glass embellishment and then it all started to come together. I added pop dots to the center piece the steeple part of the church to give dimension to the church.

I drew in the side stained glass windows and colored it with copics then went over it with some Twinkling H2o's and then added some liquid glossy accents over them. I cut out black strips and pop dotted them to create the steps of the church. The bushes under the windows are some Vellum stickers that were actually trees that I cut and layered with pop dots to add dimension.
Here is a close-up of the image, stained glass and shrubs.

Here is a pic of the shine from the glossy accents.

I also added some yellow silky rope/twine around the steeple ( center part of the card) just to give it that finished look and it also hides the pop dots when looking at it from the side.

Well I hope this inspired you to get creative with your next card and do something different!!

I really love how this card turned out!! This Christmas card will go to someone special to me..My Mom!! She'll love it!!

For this card I used one of the New BIG Elaine Cox Halloween images called "Twilight Halloween" at Sweet Pea Stamps. These images are so much bigger than all the other Sweet Pea Stamps. My card is a 5.5 x 5.5 , so you can tell how big this image is. Supplies:
Stamp:"Twilight Halloween" Elaine Cox at Sweet Pea Stamps
Ink: Memento Tuxedo
Paper: Basic Grey "eerie", Bright green and black CS, the image was stamped on Neenah Solar Crest White CS

Look at this Elaine Cox( Starry Halloween) image from Sweet Pea Stamps!!!!!!! Isn't it just gorgeous??? This image is HUGE!! I have her on a 6x6 card, so you can tell how big it is. I had the hardest time trying to get a decent pic of my card.. it is so much prettier in person. Sometimes pics just don't show the true beauty of someone artwork. I love that I was able to get so much dimension in her dress with my copics.

I used some Basic Grey eerie DP and circle chipboard. I used my new EKSuccess Big Spiderweb border punch. I love the bigger border punches they will be perfect for my Scrapbook pages

For this one I used one of Samantha Rawlings images at Sweet Pea Stamps and the name of this image is "Lil' Witch" sheet #2 Plate #62. I think she is so cute with her one eye showing!! The artist of this images is only 18 yrs old and she draws some of the cutest images.

I used some DCWV DP and a Creative Memories Jack-o-Lantern Die cut that I have had over 9 yrs..Talk about old. I added a pumpkin paper clip.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Owl's It Going????

Today I am wondering Owl's It Going with you?  This little guy/girl is ©Elaine Cox's Little Owl Witch and can be found at Sweet Pea Stamps.  It can be bought as a single stamp or with 3 other darlings.

I colored my little witch with copics but accidentally stamped her on the wrong side of my card stock so it was the glossy side. I thought I would give it a shot and see what happens (note to self)DO NOT DO IT AGAIN!!!! I found I had a hard time with blending and as you can see in the pictures their are high and low spots in the coloring!!!! This creates a sheen and almost a sticky feel to the image. Live and learn I say!  I put Glossy Accents on the moon behind and added some googley eyes for whimsy!!!! I used black, white and grey chalks for my background and opal liquid pearls for the stars.  Vintage Photo distress ink was used to age the edges of all my papers.  The sentiment was generated on my computer. A friend of mine had just laced a card of hers with string so I CASED that and did the same with some fibers I had forever and strung a few beads on them. Even with the shiny card stock I think it turned out pretty cute, what do you think?

Little Red Riding Hood in Blue

Hi Sweet Pea Stampers,

I'm afraid my card today is quick one. Not a lot of embellishments but as with all of the incredible stamps at Sweet Pea Stamps, one uber cute little girl.

For my card I used one of the images from Ching Chou Kuik's Little Red Riding Hood series from Plate #65. Isn't she just the cutest? Like I said, not very many embellishments, just the gemstones.

The image is colored with Copics and after seeing Kym's gorgeous chalk backgrounds, I dug mine out. I still have to 'practice' some more, but I love the softness - just a hint of color. And since I used shimmery chalks, there's also a hint of shimmer.

I love coloring these images from Plate #65, they are so quick to color. And because they are not as detailed as chin chou kuiks fantasy art stamps, these stamps are perfect for paper piecing. What do you think? I think next time I'm going to try some paper piecing..... wanna join me?

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you haven't heard the news yet.... you are going to be in for a surprise so be sure to stop by the Sweet Pea Stamps shop!!! That's all I'm saying........ :-)

Seeing Red this Halloween

What a fun image to color! I had never done red hair before. I thought it would work well on this image and it was lots of fun to do! I went with a fun red/purple chalked background. I chose to keep the layout very simple since I wanted the image to be the focal point.

Copics
Skintones-yr0000, e000, e51
