Starry Ornament

Today I would like to share a Christmas Ornament featuring Elaine Cox's Starry Garden Fairy. It was made with a red plastic star shaped cookie cutter.

I embellished the outer edge with ribbon and using the Crop-a-Dile cut a hole in the top for a hanger.

Tracing the cookie cutter, along the flat surface edge, on Bo Bunny's Holiday Magic Ornaments paper, I cut the shape out and glued it to the flat edge with the print side facing the inside of the cutter.

Stamp your image and color with copics. Add some sparkle with Sakura glitter pens and punch out in a 2" circle. Mat it on a 2.25" circle, using the solid side of the Bo Bunny paper using dimensional glue dots. Punch a hole in the top of the circle and run a piece of gold string through it, knotting at the top.

Cut a star shape from some red card stock and adhere to the back of the circle. Thread the gold string through the hole hanger hole of the cookie cutter, knotting and then tie off about 4" from the cookie cutter.

Connie-Caron Vinson "Royal Flower"

I used one of Sweet Pea's new artist stamps for today's art.
This beauty is by Caron Vinson and she is
"Royal Flower"
You will find her by clicking

I tried something a little different with the Spellbinder die
"Labels One".  I ran the large size through my Cuttlebug with the
embossing rubber first on a 4" square panel.  If you look closely you can see
the tone-on-tone embossing on the panel.  Then I carefully put the smaller size die
on the same panel and cut it out.

I ended up with a nice "frame" for the shape.  I popped up the overlay
piece after running some sheer pink ribbon behind it.
I layered this onto some dp by Basic Grey, colored the lady
with Copic markers, edged the panel with dye ink, tied a bow and added some Prima flowers
and Basic Grey pearls.

Check out the many new stamps and new artists over at Sweet Pea today!
Thanks for looking,
Connie

Nikki Burnette Plate #92: Shanna

This is one of the newest stamps from Nikki Burnette titled Shanna. It was colored with copics and Sakura glitter pens. After coloring in the majority of the image I removed the top half of the image background and stamped it on the blue background paper and colored in the blanks. The snow on the branches is the Marvy snow pen (which I need to really practice with).

Right now you can find this plate available for pre-order at a fantastic price in the new item section of the Sweet Pea Stamps store. But hurry! Today is the last day! You will also want to check out the After Thanksgiving offer ending today also - 20% off your order and free USA shipping (Intl is discounted). So hurry on over and have a great week!

A Couple of Christmas Beauties.....

I wanted to make all my Christmas cards this year from Sweet Pea Stamps so when I saw Ching Chou Kuik's Purple Hearts I saw green and red instead of purple.  I colored her with copics and then added stickles to give her sparkle.  I covered the hearts with red gem stones so they looked like ornaments instead.  Double matted and some Holiday DP and a big red poinsettia and she was now a Christmas Fairy!!!

Now we have some very progressive friends and this may not suit everyone but it was a perfect image for them.  This one is also one of Ching Chou Kuik's called Growing Love.... I too saw a Christmas card when I looked at her.  My friend is expecting a child close to Christmas time so it will be a double celebration for them.  Again I colored her with my copics and double matted her over some Holiday DP and a braided gold ribbon.  Stickles were added and some red flowers.  I think the original flowers on the stamps were meant to be Gardenias but with my red copics they were transformed into Poinsettia's!  I just wanted to share how versatile these stamps can be.

I hope you enjoyed!!!

Gwynth

This is from the newest sheet in the Nikki Burnette collection, Plate #92 and the image is Gwynth.  When coloring, I decided that it was a moon, not a sun in the corner.  Everything is colored with markers except for the moon and jewelry are with Spica glitter markers and the sky is one of my very first attempts at watercolor with dye inks.  I was going to use markers on the sky as well, but it just needed to be less 'solid' for lack of a better descriptive word.  I am pleased with the watercolor look and can see the combination of techniques happening quite often in the future.

Angel Kitty

In July I had to say good-bye to my precious kitty of 16 years.  It was one of the most difficult things I have ever done.  I miss her terribly.  The other day I was looking through all my wonderful Sweet Pea Stamp images and came across Purple Woods.  It struck me that the kitty was the one with wings in this picture.  I decided to color this to remind me of my sweet Angel Kitty.
