Pretty Peacock Pocket Calendar

I was so excited to color this beauty by Ching Chou Kuik! Her name is White Peacock Dryad. I thought she would make a perfect cover for a little pocket calendar. I always try to do a few of these for gifts at Christmas and like pretty images that you won't tire of.

Rising Flame in blue

Some time ago, Lynette asked the DT to select their favorite of ching chou kuiks images.  I was so very, very torn and there were many amazing ones from which to select, but I eventually settled on Rising Flame.  It is still the top of my list.

I have seen many beautiful color combinations with this image and I loved playing with another.

Ocean Fantasy

After the busy holiday season, I finally had a chance to sit down, unwind and attempt to color. It's always hard for me to choose from the beautiful stamps and decided to close my eyes and let my fingers pick a stamp. (After this month, my brain and head needs a rest :-) So my friends, for my card today, I (ahem, my fingers) picked Ocean Fantasy from Plate #21.

Align Center

I decided to use my oval nestability die to 'focus' on the beautiful mermaid. Since I had not played with my Copics in what seemed like ages, it took me a while to get her colored.

The card base is 4.25" by 5.25" because I had a kit from Rusty Pickle and decided to use the file folder extending the tab at the top. The prismatic card stock panel is from Colorbok and the glittery swirls are stickers from White Blossom.

Added a handmade ribbon rose, satin ribbon leaf vines and a button. I used tweezers to tuck the end of the leaf vine ribbon into the button holes.

As always when I started out coloring I had doubts thinking that my "mojo" had not returned but anytime I sit down and start coloring any of the Sweet Pea Stamps, I always end up finding my crafting mojo.

Make sure to stop by the shop and check the latest specials :-)..... thanks so much for stopping by.

Thank you fairy much

I'm so happy that the time for making Christmas cards is over. I love Christmas, but I've been making a card a day for two weeks now and I'm exhausted, lol.
For today's card I'd like to show you a thank you card I made. I'm sure you have people to thank after the Christmas season. The great thing about thank-you cards is that there is no theme you have to follow - everything is allowed.

I have used one of ching chou kuik's latest images called purple hearts from plate 68. She is coloured with promarkers and shimmery dry chalks for hair and background. I used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch on the background paper, then cut out a rectangle on the card's fold top of the card. I was so proud of myself for coming up with this idea. Don't think I've seen it anywhere else before, so remember where you saw it first ;)

I added some extra sparkle around the image and on some of the butterflies. The text is handwritten and I'm very happy with it (especially concidering I wrote it 4am)

I just love the airy spring-like feel of this card. Can't wait to make more!
