Hi friends! Do you ever find yourself reaching for a supply, not because it’s your favorite but because it’s just so darn handy? That’s how I have been feeling about acrylic markers. I always have a stash of paint pens in the cubby under my desk, ready to make an appearance as a final detail or if I want to decorate a non-pourous service. I don’t even think about them; they are just easy to grab! So today I decided to create some art with them on purpose in a sketchbook, and it was a blast!
Many companies are making acrylic markers now so they are easy to find and affordable. You can find them in a variety of nib types (my favorite are brush tip as they are gentle on paper and feel like using a paintbrush), from fine to wide, so you are sure to find a marker that fits your needs. My favorite thing about them is how they cooperate with nearly all of the other media I like to use! So let’s raise a glass to the unsung workhorse of the studio, the acrylic paint marker, and let’s make some art!

I do want to warn you about using fineliners over acrylic paint pens. Be sure to use a waterproof brand and let them dry completely. I hope you enjoyed this project, and til next time, happy crafting!
