Hot new must-haves!

Yes... really.  I have been playing and experimenting with my new Creative Basics dies and my new images from Angels Hearts and Memories.

Can you say LOOOOVE?!

I coloured up the images with no thought to what I was going to do with 'em next (some of you might have well-thought-out plans... me not so much lol).  Colour first... panic later when the deadline is upon you ;-).

No panic.  Pulled out my new toys and the cards basically made themselves.

So let's have a quick look at what I've used -

Firstly, all the cardstock (save for the Copic Xpress-it) is Stampin' Up; the papers are from my neverending stash (if you're in the neighbourhood... come help me use up more of it lol); dewdrops and ribbon from my stash.

Angela Bookworm:
Creative Basics dies - Fancy Squares & Little Things*; Basic Stitched Flags; Picnic Quilt EF (comes with TWO EF!  Beautiful deep embossing with no paper tearing!)
*I used the half die to make the larger matte, a little tricky but very doable and makes this die set so much more versatile
Copics - BV00-E11-21-51-50-93 and R20-E04 Skin (for all the images); E43-50-53-37 Hair; E70-71-74 and E08-09 Pillows; Y11-E23-29 Eyes; B91-95-97 Shorts; V01-04-06 Shirt; E40-41 + multiliner Book Pages; V04-09 Glass Frames; BG0000 Lenses; YG95-97-99, BG70-72-75, RV91-95-99 Books

Coffee Time:
Creative Basics dies - Fancy Squares & Little Things; Cutting Edge Borders 1; Background Builders 1; Fancy Rectangles & Layers
Copics - E41-42-43-44-47 Hair; R08-29-39 Mug; E71-74-77 Pants; E84-87-89 Shirt

Ipad Ivette:
Creative Basics diesBasic Stitched Flags; Background Builders 1; Fancy Rectangles & Layers
Copics - Y11-21-YR24-E37 Hair; RV23-13-14 Slippers & Bow; B000-01-04 Ipad Screen; B000-04 Eyes; RV10-21-13 Nightie

Wine Winnie:
Creative Basics dies - Fancy Rectangles & Layers; Basic Stitched Flags; Background Builders 1**
** I used the "straight" stitched piece and used it to "paper pierce" around the image!
Copics - Y11-21-YR24-E37 Hair; B000-04 Eyes; E30-35 Corks; YG91-93-97, R56-39-59 Wine Bottles; B91-95-97 Jeans; R05-29-39 Shirt; E71-74-77

Whew.  I know that was a little long but I didn't want to skimp.  Plus I know what it was like (and still is) when I first started colouring... ya need to know those deets.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I'm so excited!

I am super-excited and stoked to announce that I am now an official member of the Passionate Paper Creations Design Team and the Passionate Paper Creations & Friends (PPCF) Facebook Group!

The ladies of the Design Team and our fearless leader, Rhea, are all extremely talented and some of the very best in the creative paper-crafting industry, and I think everyone of 'em are on my list of blogs that I have been avidly following since "going to the darkside" (as my Decorative Painting friends would say) and discarding my paints and brushes in favour of Copic Markers.  I feel very honoured to have been asked to join them.  Hope I can keep up with 'em!

So join the fun on our Facebook Group and prepare to be inspired with all the gorgeous projects and talent freely shared by the DT and our community members.

Beach, beach Baby!

Let me give you a little news before I show you the details of this card.

This will be my last post as a SimplyBStamps Design Team member.  I have enjoyed my short time here but another opportunity has come up that I just couldn't refuse and there's only so much of me that can go around lol.  I'll tell you about that in another post.

Everyone of the DT members are awesome, talented ladies and I will miss working with them and the special camaraderie but I will follow them through the FanPage and through their individual blogs and on all our shared Facebook Groups.  This isn't goodbye, I will still be sharing frequently through this blog and on Facebook.

Thank you Betty and your wonderful DT members!

So... let's get onto what you're here for... the card!

Let me present Beach Lola Addams, such a cutie patoodie.  There is a big event going on this weekend on the Markers! Papers! Digis! Facebook Group and it's all about sand and sea, palm trees and long, cool drinks.  You don't want to miss it!  Our theme for this project was Palm Trees and Margaritas.  I just couldn't bring myself to put a "margarita" in the hands of this cute teen so I took artistic license and gave her a glass of lemonade.  Spiked maybe [wink]?

I lucked out (you know I had to look that up 'cause I never know whether it's lucked in or out lol) and found some cute beachy paper at Hobby Lobby when I went away this past week.  At 59 cents and 50% off I just couldn't leave it there lol.

Supplies:
Hobby Lobby for the scrapbooking paper
Stampin' Up Cardstock, Apple of My Eye stamp set (retired), Baker's Twine, vellum, So Saffron Ink
Dew drops from my stash; sentiment computer-generated
Creative Basics Dies - Basic Stitched Flag

Copics:

Hair E40-42-44-Y26

Shop in your pajamas!

Yes you can :-).  This online shopping in p.j.'s is FUN!

This is Ipad Ivette from the brand-spankin' new release at Angels Hearts and Memories.

She was a joy to colour and just made me smile.  I don't usually "do pink" but every once in awhile, I just gotta be brave.  But then what to do with her?  What "type" of project?  What could I "use" her for?  I love a challenge, so thought about it and had an ah-ha moment.  What an absolutely perfect image to colour up and put on a card with an enclosed giftcard to a family member or special friend (birthday, just 'cause... and how 'bout colouring her up in Christmas colours for a Christmas card with giftcard enclosed?).  Woohoo!

So, I suppose you'd like the details?

Recipe:
Cardstock - Stampin' Up (my cardstock of choice); X-press-It for the copic colouring
Paper and dewdrops - from that never-ending stash
Stamp Set - Stampin' Up BYOP (bring your own present ;-) )
Hot new toys - Creative Basic Dies: Basic Stitched Flags; Background Builders 1; Fancy Rectangles and Layers
Image - Angels Hearts and Memories Ipad Ivette from the July Release
Copics Used -
BV00-E11-21-51-50-93; R20-E04 Skin
Y11-21-YR24-E37 Hair
RV23-13-14 Slippers & Bow
B000-01-04 Ipad Screen (and I just noticed I didn't colour the "case" - pretend that's absolutely what I intended and it's high gloss white lol)
B000-04 Eyes
RV10-21-13 Nightie

Hot Hot Summer

Angels Hearts n' Memories is participating in the Summer event at Markers! Papers! Digis! Facebook Group this weekend.

Beach Ball Babe will be available for a short time at a special price of $1.00.  Grab her quick and while you're there, have a look around at the other available images exclusive only to Angels Hearts n' Memories.

Use Beach Ball Babe to enter the special challenge and use your favourite colouring medium to colour her up and include SAND (no, not the "real kind"... it'd be messy, BUT that also could work, I've seen it done [wink]).  Yes, that's the challenge.  The image plus sand.

So to help you out, I've included my copic colours below and if you need help, just sing out on the list and tag me and I'll try to help.

Find Beach Ball Babe in the Angels Hearts n' Memories store here

Recipe:

I flipped the image in my MicroSoft Word prior to printing and also printed it on copy paper.  I then masked my image (printed on copy paper and fussy cut around top of body only) and the horizon line and stamped the "sun" from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set from Stampin' Up.  Ink used was Stampin' Up Daffodil Delight.  I stamped several times by using a Stamp-a-majig.  Remove the masks and jump right in.

Then using Y02 and Y000 I flicked/pulled up from the horizon line and faded toward the top.
Water BG000-01-18
Sand E31 base with E57-55; use Colourless Blender to make texture dots; then stipple with E13 and E29
Skin E04-13-11-21-51-RV11
Hair E33-35-57
Beachball B12-16; C00-01; Y02-08; R24-29
Swimsuit R24-29-C5
Transparent Cover-up - when you use the Colourless Blender to soften/move the colour where the transparent part will be, if you use it right after you applied the red, the red will "bleed" and give you the soft cover-up look (you can also add a little R24 to "0" in a tip-to-tip application).
