The Paper Players

This week at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ we have a color challenge with the colors, Red, Yellow, Black, and Blue. I love making cards using primary colors, cards come out looking so bright and colorful. With most children going back to school soon I decided to make this Back-to-School card. What a nice surprise for a child to find a card in their lunch box on the first day of school.

Grade School Paper Pattern - From Michael's single sheet rack
Bear Image - Computer-download I matted with plain red cardstock. I printed the "Have Fun..." sentiment on the image.
Yellow Card Base - David Tutera "Celebrate" assorted colors card and envelope box.
ABCs Strip- Is an "ek" brand border Punch
Embellished with a gold glitter puffy star, a sticker USA flag, a handwritten "Good Job!" and "A+".....to make the child's day even more fun!!

This card conveys a great message about life and how everything we do throughout our day, whether work or play, depends on you as to which direction your life will take. I like how this card works great for two of my challenges this week.
I cut the circle from my Cricut "Sportsmania" cartridge. I was able to ungroup it and cut the center out in white and embossed it with the Cuttlebug "Bubbles" embossing folder to resemble a golf ball. The quote and golfer strip are computer-generated.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

I am running low on male cards, both boys and adults, decided to use this very nice sketch this week at http://sweetsketchwednesday2.blogspot.com/ to make an adult card using this mostly browns color combo. Although, I did make the card without a bow....male card with a bow... too girly, I think.

My Card

My Scraps drawers are getting too full, I am trying really hard to use up all my odds & ends, this sketch was perfect for doing so. I started by using a Kraft cardstock card base with matching envelope from a Recollections pack at Michael's Craft Stores. The embossed goldish color paper has a slight pattern to it, I embossed with a Cuttlebug "Gears" folder. The third panel is a wood-grain pattern and the "Happy B'day" panel has a pretty gold shimmer to it. I wrote and printed the sentiment on my Explore. The metal gear is from an assortment pack by "bead landing" brand from Michael's. The chevron strip I cut out of cardstock with a Recollection "Chevron" Border Punch.

The Paper Players

OMG running late.....made it under the wire to post my card for this week at the http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/...whew!! I really wanted to make this card . The challenge was to use "Light" as our theme. Right away I got this "bright idea" to use a street light, but how do I incorporate it into a card...here you go!

I fussy cut a street light I downloaded from the Internet, used buttons for the lights (sorry, green button photographed too dark). Printed the sentiment on the computer and used a Spellbinder die to cut it out. Added the paper roses. The base card  Roses cardstock is from the DCWV "French Garden" stack.
