for digital whisper: mama. this image i found from daring digis gave me some nostalgic feelings about my very loving grandmother, long gone from this earthly plane.

tweet spring!

this month's customer challenge at gecko galz is: tweet spring! as with all gecko galz challenges all you have to do is use at least one gecko galz image to play along. there are freebies on the blog regularly and of course they also have an etsy shop.

for this creation i started with a beautiful collaged digital paper by gecko galz featuring birds and postal images. i added a few more digital images from gecko galz, as well as a girl from daring digis, and a border from mischief circus.

it is spring in my hemisphere and one of the ways you know is because the birds are singing a LOT! i'm going to enjoy creating on this challenge this month. i hope you will also!

Hester and Eve

this week's challenge theme at our midweek muse is "it begins with an A."  the first thing i thought of was The Scarlet Letter, a book by Nathaniel Hawthorne. in this story, a woman in American puritan times, Hester Prynne, is forced to wear a scarlet letter "A" to represent her adultery, because she gave birth to a child by a man to whom she was not married. only the woman was punished, of course. (although in the story the man, incidentally a preacher, ultimately dies from his guilt).

the woman here is from ameria design studios. i took the image of a church from pixabay and rendered it in black and white. additional images are from pixabay and mischief circus. roses were featured in the book.

women take a lot of the heat for things that go wrong in this world it seems. thus this second creation featuring a famous apple...
