Easter Mantel

The challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters is EASTER. It's coming up in just a couple of weeks. So a card or project that is Easter related is perfect. I went with a project since I really don't send out Easter cards. Here is my Easter mantel for my fireplace. I have decided to decorate my mantel for the season or holiday. This was very much Pinterest inspired.

The 8x10 subway art is a free printable from Tammy Mitchell Designs. I loved the colors and it had to have "PEEPS" on there because that is my favorite! The bunting banner, which is my first one ever, is another free printable from Itsy Belle. I can not find the link to the eggs that are on the banner. I got the frame and jars from Hobby Lobby when they were 1/2 off.

If you have an Easter project or card, go to The Sisterhood of Crafters and join us in our challenge. Thanks for stopping by. : )

Let's Celebrate - Birthdays!

This week at The Sisterhood of Crafters the challenge is about Birthdays. It can be a birthday card or a gift you made for someone's birthday. Although my birthday card stash is running quite low my project is for a birthday gift. My neice's daughter turned 10 this month and I decorated the letters of her name to go up on her wall. This is more of a gift for the mom due to the fact that her daughter is blind and mentally challenged. Although Ariona may never see the decorated name I made for her I made sure it was tactile so she could feel it.

Here is a close up of the "N". Her mother's favorite saying is "Love is Blind", so I wanted to include that in there somewhere. But I also wrote that saying in Braille at the top of the "N". I used someothing similiar to Dew Drops to write it out. I also included some of these dots on the other letters just as decoration.
I really enjoyed making this for Ari. She's a sweetie and I have a soft spot for her since I also have a special needs daughter.

Please join us this week at The Sisterhood of Crafters for a challenge about Birthdays. Some lucky participant will win a stamp set from Shabby Chic Stamp Company.

I am entering this project in the following challenges:
Allsorts - Say it with Flowers
Cupcake Craft - Going Dotty
Paper Pretties - Stripes
Quirky Crafts - "For a Special Lady" plus Circles, Flowers and gems/pearls
The Squirrel & the Fox - Love -- Love Is Blind

Thank You Cards

At The Sisterhood of Crafters our challenge is to use STRIPED PAPER on your project. This is a very quick and easy set of Thank You cards that I made and they all feature the same striped paper. I didn't even use a stamp, the sentiments are all rub ons. Doesn't get much easier than that.

Check out what the other sisters created for their striped creation at The Sisterhood of Crafters, then join us with your own striped project.

Black, White and Yellow - Bridal Shower

This post is going to have LOTS of pictures. My neice got married on 11-11-11 and I decorated this Bridal Shower for her. As you can tell her wedding colors were Black, White and Yellow.
I had a lot of fun putting it all together.

I found this "Bride" bling sticker from Jolee's at Wal-Mart.
Added it to a big yellow candle, then set it on a black plate and surrounded the bottom with big faux diamonds. Found those at Wal-Mart too.

This was a plain black "holder" from Target, I found in the party supply isle. It was flat and had to be put together. Added daisy stickers all around the bottom and black dew drops to the handle.

Found this "W" on clearance at Michaels for around a $1.
Added 3 coordinating ribbons to it and placed in on the table. Added fresh yellow flowers to a premade cake.

These little white buckets were at the $1 store, 3 for a $1. Added ribbon around it and glued on white dew drops. Finished off with 3 ribbons around the handle and filled them with Lemon Heads.

I made custom water bottle labels. This is from a free template I found from Judy Prouse. Megan and Shane

I saved this post so I could use it for the Black, White and One other Color Challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters. So go on over and check out the other pretty creations my fellow Sisters made and they all used different accent colors.

Here are a few pictures of my neice Megan and Shane. Their wedding was in Destin, Florida on 11-11-11. We stayed there for a week in a condo on the beach and had a great time.

Polka Dots

The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge for this week is POLKA DOTS. I covered a composition notebook and made a match birthday card. My son gave it to his teacher for her birthday last month. I added her name in the top section but forgot to take a picture of that.

Halloween Treat Bags

This week I am hosting the challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters. The theme is Halloween. I made these cute little treat bags. It fits 4 pieces of the fun size candy bars. The ribbons on the handle are tied to just the front handle except for the middle one. The middle ribbon on each bag ties both the front and back handle together. I didn't want the reciepants to have to work that hard at getting their candy out. : )

I know there are plenty of patterns out there to make these little treat boxes and you can even cut them out with the Cricut, Big Shot or something like that. I chose an even easier way and cheap too. I found these favor boxes at the $1 store. There are 12 in the package and super simple to put together. I just added paper to the front and back then inked it up a little and added the ribbons. These quick and easy to make but I think turned out really cute.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog. : D

Flower Power

It's been a long time since I've posted but I'm finally back with a Sisterhood of Crafters challenge. I hosted the challenge this week and it's called Flower Power. Just use a flower on your project. So here are 3 cards that I came with for this challenge.

The first 2 cards are for similar just using a different image. One is more sophisticated and the other fun. The rose image is from Delicious Doodles.

We have a sponosr this week and it's Pizzazz Aplenty. So go check out the challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters and get in on a chance to win some goodies.
