As Arnolfini reflects on five decades in its iconic Bristol Harbourside home and looks ahead to the future, we are delighted to share the news that Professor Paul Gough will join us as our new Chair of Trustees from January 2026. His appointment comes at a moment of celebration and renewal, as we prepare to launch a refreshed vision that will guide Arnolfini towards 2030 and beyond.
A Leader Deeply Connected to the Arts and the Region
Paul Gough is a highly respected figure in the visual arts, known internationally as a practising artist, broadcaster, and writer. Alongside his creative work, Paul has held senior roles in universities across the world, including here in Bristol, helping to build strong relationships between education and the cultural sector.
His passion for arts education and community engagement aligns closely with Arnolfini’s mission to create work that inspires and connects people across Bristol, the region, and beyond.
