If in the 5th garden I plant a lot of lilypads/flowers in one place and then in this position try to plant one more it will result in four lilypads being planted around that one. The bug is that one of them is planted on mud while it should be deleted like the ones on the walls are.

the open world elements made me unsure whether i was supposed to go on the 'lawns' or not as the main path through the game. But it was rewarding to push through and understand the game structure (im still only midway through level 2 but really enjoying it)

You were very careful to hide the potential spoiler, but I'm actually quite happy for it to be stated that the lawns never form part of the intended solution. That's not to say they aren't useful, in a couple of ways, so it's definitely worth checking them out early on to discover how they might help. Good luck with the rest of the game.
