Much like Any Port in a Storm, DastardlyFool’s latest entry is that rare strain of indie horror that lingers long after the game ends - haunting you not with jump scares, but with questions that won’t let go. Is it a meditation on postpartum depression? A grim reflection of our climate-anxious world? A David Lynch-esque descent into the surreal anxieties of parenthood? Or simply a fever dream wrapped in counting people out of a window?
Play it yourself and decide. I, for one, can’t wait to see what this developer conjures up next.
If I had a nickel for every time I played a SCREAM JAM 2025 entry with a mechanic involving counting something, with it being themed around "counting sheep", I'd have two nickels.
Once again, your games leave me speechless by the end. I mean I knew instantly when I saw this page that I'd love this, but expectations were broken even then. Like once again I'm just adoring everything about it goddammit, even the fact that I'm second guessing if half of my counting was accurate or if the game is lying to me, love it. Amazing work as usual \o/
This game is SO sick, I love love looooove the art direction and gameplay. Though its details are sparse, the story just provides only what we need to know, just enough to understand what's happening.
The mother choosing not to fire at the apparition when it takes the form of something that looks like her child is sad, but telling -- and you only realize why by the time you're left at the last scene. By that point, it very quickly became one of my favorite horror games ever.
Really cool and fun game made by an amazing developer, ran into no issues and the story is pretty intriguing! For a roughly 13-14 minute game, that was awesome!

Congratulations! I thought my game entry would be among the first 10, but there were many really good spooky games in this game jam.

Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
