Alright, fine, here's the backstory about replacing my Microsoft Copilot key with a picture of a carp. Warning: that's the whole story.

When I bought my latest laptop, which coincidentally is already losing functionality in multiple keys, I noticed that the right Control button was no longer a right Control button. This was a bad sign for me, someone who fairly frequently used the right Control button. Worse still, it now bore the Microsoft Copilot logo and would open, when pressed, Microsoft Copilot. Not having personal interest in that particular robot, I was now in the market to rebind that key to something else.

I initially considered setting it up as my dedicated The Sims 2 button, but not only do I not yet have The Sims 2 installed on this computer, the way I play that game, it takes upwards of 15 minutes to boot up. I knew I would be constantly accidentally hitting this key, and I did not want to be constantly accidentally opening The Sims 2.

My partner immediately suggested that I set it to open "a jpeg of a fish." I Googled "carp," found an image, and set my right Control key to open a tiny browser window with a link to said fish. Though it is a .png file from pngtree labeled "pngtree-rohu-carp-fish-png-png-image_4022775.png", in an effort to display matrimonial piety, I dutifully labeled it "fish jpeg."

I now accidentally open this link multiple times a day, which is great, because it means I have a lot of opportunities to see a fish. Sometimes I accidentally hit it several times in quick succession, which means I get to see several fish! When I close all my open programs to shut down my computer, I usually find at least one forgotten fish. Things are working out beautifully, and everyone is happy.

The other day I brought up this story to a friend and relayed the saga of my success to her through her obvious confusion. At the end of my tale she asked me, "Why didn't you just bind it back to right Control?" and I had to admit to her that it honestly never occurred to me.

What does the early developmental stage of labyrinthgirl HRT look like

Almost all of the changes are four-dimensionally offset from your original body. Some people call it your soul outgrowing your body or some similar nonsense, but it is quite provably material, as your new appetite and seemingly enormous density will attest. That's the first sign.

The next thing that will happen is that these new parts will start reaching out for support from within our conventional three-dimensional world. There's a lot of individual variability from this point, but there are three key things to look for: expanded awareness, agoraphobia, and lethargy. The expanded awareness will initially be very easy to mistake for just detecting vibrations through the floor, but eventually you'll be able to feel almost anything which is "underneath" your higher-dimensional mass, with great precision. The agoraphobia and lethargy are rather badly misnamed, and are actually entirely physical sensations: having to "peel" your hider dimensional matter from nearby structures. The discomfort when leaving a structure you're heavily attached to is more or less unavoidable, but regularly moving around inside it can keep you flexible enough to avoid getting stuck in bed.

In some cases, other people will also experience symptoms at this phase—if people near you feel an inexplicable pressure or things crawling over them at this phase, that's you! Remember that these motions are completely subconscious and you should not feel guilty about them.

In the longer term, your awareness will likely extend to your entire house or even your entire apartment building. It can be hard to keep track of your meat original body at this point, but it's important to do so at least until after your true sinews higher-dimensional form can feast becomes self-sufficient in terms of nutrition. For most people this just means as soon as you stop getting hungry, but appetite is not actually a reliable indicator! Experts recommend waiting at least until you've first started to form new architecture before you fully neglect your husk. There are surgeries to remove it fully, of course, though plenty of girls prefer to retain their puppet for various reasons. It can potentially make normal human interactions easier, lure prey, or help in cases where one or more headmates still have an attachment to an insignificant form. Should you wish to keep it, you may want to learn how to operate it manually; human biology is fleeting, after all, and decades are nothing to you now. You're free.

Holy crap.

WELP, that ends my account.

Qobuz is the most ethical alternative to spotify and even tidal (tidal is just pandora radio in a different font; you can't curate playlists, which i absolutely fucking hate, but you can curate playlists on qobuz, and the royalties they pay to their artists are far larger than spotify) that i've been able to find, thanks to this post on instagram by singer-songwriter laura burhenn. the post also lists other alternatives, including tidal, but qobuz is by far the best of the lot. they even have a free feature called soundiiz where you can transfer all of your playlists from spotify to qobuz!

Worth a reblog for this great info.

*hides benign thing I was looking at on the computer when someone enters the room as if it were something nefarious or inappropriate*

there needs to be an easy way to say "i don't have an active sexual interest in you but i would love to explore your body and if you need help getting off or trying new things i'll do it with you". like i dont wanna FUCK you but i DO want to be close to you and play toys with our bodies

i think sex is a fun thing to do with friends. i think it's exciting and pleasurable and often really funny. there are a lot of people i'd have really enjoyable and fun sex with who i wouldn't necessarily say i have a carnal desire for. plus i would kill to get more casual flirting and kink in my life by any means necessary.

the catch 22 of being a femslash fan is that when you try and get anyone else to care or talk about media that has a heavy slant towards female characters and relationships between them you will be met by a bunch of people who tell you to stop whining about the things you like or make being unpopular and just focus on supporting or creating these things. but then if you actually go out and do this and fully commit to that and say that you're not interested in m/m or m/f centric stuff people will act like you are smug, narrowminded, pretentious, or even just straight up bigoted.

there really is no winning because what people actually want is to never have to think about why relationships between two women or female-dominated casts are so proportionately rare in popular or culturally relevant media. they can't outright say they think its because these types of work matter less or are across the board lower in quality than the things they like, but a lot of people do clearly believe that on some level. because that version of affairs is the one that lets misogyny be something happening on the back end that they are just responding to, rather than something they are participating in by "just not really being able to get into f/f" for whatever Mysterious Reasons.
