a beautiful meditation on the strength it might give you to be feared. or at least the illusion of strength, and how we can read the medusa myth and monsterous women myths as them taking that fear and "ugliness" and using it as a shield. but it may not feel like a shield, it might look that way to outsiders. until you harness it yourself and do what you need to feel right with your situation. which seems to be the final meditation- medusa is not saved in any version of the myth. not by being beautiful, nor by being unpalatable. so in the end there is no saving, there is only yourself and what you can do to exist within your reality. in other words, answering to yourself and your needs rather than the cruelties of the other.
