Not sure if you saw my posts on Bluesky about it but the Demo has been relaunched and I would love to see what you think of it.

So, the one that was labelled the Demo never got the update to the new, cleaner rules and powers. The file was apparently never updated and has since been lost with my old pc's death. No big deal, I can recreate it but it will take some time. There will be an updated demo published--hopefully--within the week.

I released a Demo of it about a year ago, it's as close as it gets without spoiling a lot of the game. It has simplified rules, powers, and the baddies and BBEG from the first arc of the campaign.

Ooo! Thank you for the heads up. I'm currently working on an expanded version of the game while I finish up work on Tea & Crumpets but I will definitely rerelease with a more reader friendly font.

Hello! Thanks for the feedback. I could only fit so much into the space of a single piece of paper so some clarifications were sadly lost. We plan on fleshing it out a bit once the game jam ends--I actually want to make a bigger game out of the concept--and will definitely use this feedback to help it grow. As for your questions:

Yes the modifiers apply the moment they're in the Residence. And yeah, they can be punishing but in our playtests it's nothing insurmountable especially with Determination--which does stack. 

We haven't had any issues with 1s resetting the Frighter-Counter but that's mostly because it's rare for someone's highest die rolled to be a 1, so we haven't encountered an issue there. 

We modeled the game after an old Sega Genesis game called Haunting Staring Polterguy so we kept the goal of that game in mind the whole time: scare away the family. The thing is, you have to scare them all individually most of the time and some people are harder to scare than others. So, sadly, we can't just have the last member of the family just run away with everyone else gone. Granted, we will explore a lot of these mechanics during the full scale development that will happen eventually--we have a big backlog of games to get out but this one might jump much of the line.

The current version of Tea & Crumpets is built for up to six players with a GM for a total of seven at a table. It can be played with any size ranging from the GM and a single magical girl up to that max. When we launch the new version this will change.

Thank you so much for taking the time to download the game, read it, and leave feedback. Honestly, the game was meant more as an art project but it apparently functions as a game! Who knew?! Either way, I hope you find even the smallest measure of enjoyment kicking in some skulls and meeting up for some victory orgies!

It's definitely in late Alpha maybe Early Beta right now and I am beyond excited. We've fleshed out a ton of mechanics that--frankly--needed it and even wrote out an entire campaign in broad strokes for the book that includes more than Earl Grey and his Terrible Roses, expanded the Heart Mechanics, fleshed out the Magical Girl Powers, did a ton of world building, and added in some very important relationship mechanics! So, hopefully it lives up to expectations.

And yeah, it was kind of the same with my dog. I was at work when I got the call that he'd fallen down the stairs. He'd been having some issues and was restless but we figured he was just old. But when I heard his breathing over the phone I left work and we took him to the vet. They think it was age and a brain tumor. I think he had a rare tumor that caused his face muscles to waste away like they did. I still can't believe he's gone and am still figuring out how to carry on without him. I had him from the day he was born and just can't fathom this world without him...

I'm mostly just looking to be able to set the light offset for when my character is facing up, down, left, and right individually. So, if I'm facing right it's say: 12, 20 but facing left it's -12, 20. Same for up or down.

Is there a way to set the offset for the light based on which direction the sprite is facing? I'm using taller sprites and the flashlight is illuminating my character's head.

Keep getting an _0x43cf4e.clone is not a function error. Is there a fix for this?

You could run it with a single GM and Player but I wouldn't recommend it just because of how hard ttrpgs can be. I'd say at least 3 to 5 players and a GM is the sweet spot.

There will be a sale for it next month when I launch the supplement on June 24th. So, maybe you can pick up a copy then and take it for a spin.
