The art style is gorgeous, and the game's mechanics are simple to learn but really fun to play with! I like how the player got a new movement/attack option after every fight rather than all at once; it's definitely a lot easier to take in as a new player. Hexblade has a bunch of potential, and I think if you keep it simple you have a great game idea here.
Thank you for playing and commenting! I agree with your idea about some visual tells from the hero; I think I’ll add those in my post jam update. About the hitboxes, the hero’s hitbox is actually larger than the bokos. I wanted to simulate how video game protagonists get larger hitboxes than common enemies. I’ll think about adding a tell to make this more fair.
Thank you for the feedback! I agree that the terrain and monsters could have used more variety. Had I more time, I would have liked to give the hero a bow as well and include ranged monsters.
About the short interval hits, I gave the hero a short invincibility time like in other adventure games, but I did not show it well. Sorry about that.
I appreciate all feedback, negative and positive. I wasn't trying to make the game traditionally scary, more unnerving like you mentioned. I do agree that the ending could use a lot work. This is the first horror game I have made, so I'm looking to improve a lot. I'm actually making another (longer) horror game right now; I would love to see if you think I improved!
