Achievements are another good idea, but I haven't learned how to implement them yet... Anyway, thanks for checking out the game and hope you enjoy it :)

Unfortunately  the GBC rom isn't included with the Steam version. IT's a good idea though and we'll look into to seeing if it's possible in the future.

The full version is now complete and available for sale:

For a limited time, you can grab the game at a discount.

Thanks for the comments and exposure! I posted links to your video on X, so I hope it helps your channel grow!

Thanks for making the video, along with posting the reviews here and on steam! We wanted the demo to start getting difficult so people can anticipate the challenge of the full version :

The Demo version of Pyrotoad, a puzzle-action precision platformer where you take on the role of Pyrotoad, a fiery frog with the enigmatic power to spew flames after chomping down fireflies, is now available for download, in either ROM or .EXE format.

The full version is coming soon in early fall. Stay tuned for announcements.

Visit the Itch page for details, credits, and download links. Also find below a video of the trailer.

Thanks for checking the game out, and double thanks for playing it all the way through! GGs

Also appreciate the feedback regarding the difficulty :)

Thanks for downloading Aaron!

I recommend using OpenEmu — it's free, works great, and is very beginner-friendly.

You can download it here: https://openemu.org
Once it's installed, just drag and drop the .NES file into the app, and it should show up in your game library. Then just double-click to play.

Have fun with the game!

I used to play a little guitar and double bass, but it's been ages (;^_^A

Thanks for doing so - and unrelated but I gotta say that instrument in your avatar pic looks sweet :)

That's a nice mix, you have the fastest fighter and strongest mage, so it should be a pretty balanced party - good luck with the playthrough!

Thanks for checking it out, and for the feedback as well.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of party did you go with?

Drow Tactics is a strategy RPG in which you must create a party of 3 heroes and battle through 10 maps by defeating the bosses that guard each goal. For each character, you can choose to be a fighter or a mage, and then choose 1 of 5 affinities (wood, fire, earth, metal, or water), for a total of ten classes, each with unique stats growths. Between battles you can shop to supply your heroes with restorative items or stat boosts. The game features an auto-save system.

Sure thing!

Basically, for each level, you start in the lower-left corner and have to make your way to the door in the upper right. All levels are one screen, and you have to ascend from the ground level to the third level, usually by climbing ladders.

Touching any enemy will send you back to the beginning of the level.

You use the d-pad to move left/right, or up/down on ladders, and the A button to jump.

The game ends after touching the door on the 25th level.

A free NES rom, programmed from scratch. Details:

25 single-screen action platform levels in which the player must lead the character to the exit door while avoiding obstacles such as spikes and moving enemies.

The difficulty is slightly on the difficult side, but the levels are short, and the player has unlimited lives.

The games features one original music track.

With wall jumping, is there a way to prevent the player from jumping directly up - in other words, I want the player to always kick off in the opposite direction of the wall, and never straight up

Thank you very much! With this easier to understand reply, I was easily able to implement the object I intended :)

Is it possible to limit Extra Jumps only to when a variable is true, or do they have to simply be on or off for the entire program?
