I am using the NVDA screen reader, and if I click or press space bar on run game, nothing seems to happen, no sound plays. For a sound-based game, totally blind people should be able to play this.

Hi, I don't know if you're still looking at comments, but I have some very interesting news for you. I'm a blind person, and I['m able to advance the story but I had to click. If enter could just advance, that'd be great, then it's the world map: I've noticed that there are fotsteps, and if the character hits a wall or the end of the map, the footsteps stop. This is actually really cool! The only thing that would have to be added is a way to speak co-ordinates, and to show what's around you. I don't know how the hide and seek section works but if it's a door perhaps something like, door 2n, 1w or something. This thing seems very close to being accessible for the blind, it's just knowing which keyboard commands we could add to display some information.
I'm back playing, and I've gotten further than I've ever gotten before. I found a Marian who has magic, which is awesome, and the music for the formal dinner made me cry!
I do have some spoilery questions.
1. At the bankwit, will Marian always be taken?
2. Between building projects, and gaining power, what would you say is most important? I also get into a situation where I do lose a lot of gold and bass seems to fall apart. Wondering the best way to gain gold. Is it worth starting again, or should I just let the playthrough continue?
Hi there, I am a totally blind person, using a screen reader called NVDA on windows. Sadly, I can't get this game to read properly. It just says WebGL mode. I was able to use OCR and get a way into Chapter 1, but I'm not sure if enter to advance is always working correctly, as the text is scrolling text that appears over time. As a screen reader user, that isn't needed. Or, if it is, it'd be cool if there's some sounds for the scrolling text. I don't know if this is in development anymore, however, but I figured I'd ask, because I like what I've played so far.
Hi there, blind person here. Just to let you know, your main page has been restricted for UK users. I wanted to let you know because there's an appeal process you can go through on your geo restrictions section of your creator dashboard. It makes no sense to me, and I'm an adult, I should be able to go here and look at all of your games. I can access your individual games, but can't access your main colelction of games. So I've grabbed both Voyageur a while back, and now Cape.
I'm really enjoying it so far, but I am experiencing a bug on windows where when I exit, it is saving my settings such as screen reader, but not gameplay settings such as speed or unlocked levels, essentially resetting progress each time. Also, it said noise commands are now enabled but I'm not sure how to activate, or if it's more level dependant. Thanks for a fun game though!
Ahoy, that was a fun first attempt at an audiogame! I'm a blind person and I was able to escape second try. The strange thing is there were points where it sounded like the zombies were behind me but they were in front of me. Good first concept though. I've also tried anarky mart and whilst the game does read with my screen reader, if I type, for instance, help, it doesn't give me instructions on how to play.
Hi, what language is this game programmed in?Reason I ask is I wonder if it'll be possible to add accessibility for screen reader users, and audio cues for the games. As it stands, even with the downloadable version, it I don't know if I can begin the game with the keyboard, and with OCR it says start or exit but I don't know if using the arrow keys is moving me or not.
Hi, I'm getting a bunch of dll errors.
---------------------------
TextBattleAdventure.exe - System Error
---------------------------
The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140D.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

OK

I think there might be others as well.
Hi, I'm a blind person, and so far, self voicing is working (press v when launching the game) however, there's a big bug. It keeps on reading the previous screen, so I've selected standard mode, and it's now reading the two mode descriptions constantly, followed by what it's meant to be reading, describing the world and such. I'm wondering, is there a chance this could be looked into?
Wow. That was amazing. I'm totally blind, and I hope that this adventure will be completed. The only mechanic I struggled with, was switching targets. I wasn't really sure which target I was on, and I'm kind of wondering if there could be a sound to confirm who you've switched to as I don't know if the fade out mechanic worked or not. Absolutely fantastic though!
Wow. I've given you a really cool rating because of the new version. My question now is, where would I submit a journal response? Very very nice update and also amazing that you have included both versions for people to try, because I could see myself coming back to the writing prompt version later and trying to add in some of my own ideas such as other random systems and cards as part of that story. But for the mechanic version, I shall stick to dice roles and prompts only.
Oh my goodness! I need to give a heads up this is going to be a very long comment!
This, was, brilliant! The interface was easy to use, the references were great.
Some suggestions for future levels either for you, or Zoe, perhaps both alternating again!
Hot chocolate
Warm cookies with various toppings chocolate, sinimon maybe?
Then for even bigger expansions:
Following up on customers where you don't have the order. You could get coins for successful orders and then buy recipes in, so for the person who wanted that decaf she could come back later and you could surprise her!
Customers commenting on how their order is, if you got it perfect, if it's a bit overheated but if you try again and get it right next time they might like you, or some might storm out or give less or such.
So you could get some achievements for that.
Whilst I think this is really cool, I'm totally blind and I got confused on other difficulties other than easy. The sonar pings seemed to keep on going, or I'd do a ping in the right lane but then move to the midlde lane only to die almost instantly. It's a good try for a first attempt and I'm sure this can be improved and expanded upon.
Whilst I understand die or retry, as a blind person, there needs to be some more info, perhaps some different footsteps at the very least. I was literally stumbling around in the dark with n idea what to do next, and so I've given your agmeplay 2 stars. Whilst the idea is to figure things out, as a totall blind person, where audio is my main focus, I really think having a few 8-bit footstep sounds would help with the level as there could be some different sounds on the square.s There doesn't necessarily have to be sounds near the hazard, as long as I remember OK there's six fwoopy footsteps west then two scuffy footsteps south then 1 footstep easy makes me die, then I have to remember to retread my steps next time. Great first effort though!
I think that's correct.
So to explain it literally:
The first space bar, with your animal sound, is you starting the round.
The voice wil announce a time, let's use 20 seconds for an example.
At the first tick, I believe that's 1 second.
The 4th tick is 4 seconds.
The fifth tick onwards is silent, but is 5, 6, 7, etc. You must use the tick as a counter, and after the 4th tick, i.e: 4 seconds, your brain must do the rest. At, say, 20 seconds, you must press your button during this last second, but must also be the last person to press the button during this second. The actual idea behind this, I think, would eventually be able to get a group of players who are so good that it would come down to literal milliseconds as to who got last.
Wow, I absolutely loved this. I don't tink it was too verbose, as I have my screen reader going quite fast. Perhaps in the future there could be options to make things less verbose for those who would like that though. I did not find the information overwhelming, and I enjoyed the 8-bit sound design.
