Hello, wasteland wanderers! I’m Radioactive Dog, a solo dev building an immersive RPG in Twine SugarCube. I’m stoked to share my progress on this post-apocalyptic adventure and give you a peek at what’s coming next!
What’s Already Out There
My game drops you into a dynamic world where time ticks, weather shifts, and the moon glows over a gritty landscape. The date and time system is live, with dawn, dusk, and stormy nights setting the mood. You’ll face hunger and hydration challenges, navigate NPC dialogues with a slick speech box system, and tackle quests with a tracker widget. Combat’s in play too, with health/mana bars and a Fallout-inspired lockpick minigame to keep things fun!
What’s on the Horizon
I’m cooking up a beefy inventory system with drag-and-drop slots, item rarity colors (Common to Legendary!), and equip/unequip sounds. Expect a crafting system inspired by Metro series games, letting you mod weapons and brew alchemical goodies. Combat will get spicier with bleed, stun, and a complex defense system (think Fallout’s AC, DT, DR). I’m also planning factions, a world map with points of interest, and maybe some mysterious items needing identification. Oh, and underwater action (underwater locations and maybe secrets and treasures)? It’s on the list! Definitely going to add interesting points of interests and events on the World Map!
