okay, thanks for clarifying. i did not even consider that anyone would try to submit the same game multiple times. the Team Guidelines entry does not read that way to me. maybe adjusting the wording there could be helpful.

it says under Team Guidelines on the jam page

Each team may submit only one game, uploaded through a single itch.io account either the team leader’s personal account or a new account created for the team.

but the FAQ contradicts this:

3. Can I submit multiple games?

Yes! You may submit more than one game and may also join multiple teams. ⚠️ Make sure all involved teams have agreed if you are joining more than one team.

that should be fine. you can do whatever you want after the jam ratings are done (though i would encourage you to keep the 4-color jam version available for posterity).

as Polter said, some people may be confused by multiple versions and more than 4 colors, so you should leave the full color version completely out of the jam submission.
