Since our founding in 2012, The Pink Boat Regatta has raised over One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) for Breast Cancer Research. We have done this with the unwavering support of all of YOU, our community, as well as our sponsors and partners over the years. This is no small feat, and you all should be proud of the accomplishment you helped us achieive.
The Pink Boat Regatta is run 100% by volunteers. Nobody associated with this organization has ever received a paycheck. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of the organization. There is absolutely no way we could not have achieved this success without them.
As we all know, the winds of change are ever present. Our volunteers have other things they do in their lives, such as work, family, and other interests. We cannot fault anyone for moving on in their lives. We appreciate every minute of time our volunteers have given to the organization over the years.
It is with great sadness, we must announce that, effective December 31st, 2025, The Pink Boat Regatta, and it's parent company, Sound Contribution, will cease operations, and be dissolved. This should not, nor does not reflect on anyone assoicated with the organization, however it takes multiple people to maintain operations of a complex series of events, such as this. With the lack of volunteers and operations coordination, we would be unable to produce events at the quality you all are used to seeing.
We are hopeful that one or more of the supporting yacht clubs will pick up the baton and host a fundraising regatta for Breast Cancer Research. This cause is near and dear to all of us, and given the level of support we've received over the years, we know it's important to all of you. Even if there's not a regatta for this cause moving forward, we implore all of you to continue donating to breast cancer resarch in any way you see fit.
On a personal note, it has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve this organization. I have participated in this endeavor since the very beginning. I joined the board in 2018, but was a participant since 2012. My tenure on the board has been a combination of fun, stress, learning and pride for me. I thank you, one and all for the opportunity to lead this organization.
